I know, I know, 2022 isn't even over yet, but Alan brought up a good point (don't tell him I said this) about adding a WR doesn't need to just before this season. If you look at the Packers roster, we have the following names signed beyond this season.

2023 WR Randall Cobb
2024 WR Amari Rodgers
2025 WR Christian Watson
2025 WR Romeo Doubs
2025 WR Samori Toure

I believe there is a good chance Cobb retires after this season.

I think there are two distinct thoughts on adding a WR.
• If you want to say Packers should have traded for a WR for the future, I'm with you.
  • If you want to say the Packers need to trade for a WR for 2022, you're clueless because this team is more than a WR away.
• No one, and I mean NO ONE was talking about Calvin Ridley and then the Jaguars shocked everyone by giving up 5th rounder in 2023 and 2nd rounder in 2024. That's max. Packers would have to ante up that 5th rounder to probably a 4th or even 3rd because the assumption is the Packers picks will be later than Jaguars. Still, it is a deal I would have done REGARDLESS of who is at QB. I see Ridley as someone who would be great for Aaron Rodgers, and even more great for Jordan Love.

Chase Claypool is still on his rookie contract. Packers threw 2nd at Steelers for him, but Bears came in offering their 2nd which is assume to be earlier than Packers so of course Steelers take Bears deal. If I'm Packers, I say fine, here's a 7th rounder too, fook it! Granted, Claypool is very immature and a bit of a headcase, but if the Packers grow some leaders out of thin air, maybe they can reel him in? Bears got him and now his career will be shambles. Sucks to be him.

So, I'll say it again. Packers could have added a WR, but the benefit would have been for beyond 2022, not for 2022.

Packers Rookie WR's (Doubs, Toure, Watson)
    40 receptions, 401 yards, 4 TD's

    Raiders Davante Adams
    38 receptions, 512 yards, 5 TD's

The rookies aren't equaling the production!!

Our rookie WRs are an intriguing group. I think with coaching and games under their belt we'll come to like these kids a lot.

I am personally fine with the 3 rookies and I think they will grow with whoever the next GB QB will be (Love or if we draft one with our high 1st round pick), I see Amari and Cobb gone next year and all depends on cap space maybe they grab someone in the 2nd at WR. We are totally screwed with the cap next year and if we somehow get lucky and both Rodgers and Bahk both retire than we might gain valuable room to maneuver, but if not than we will be depending on rookies and low cost players.

Now as far as Kevin's comment about Claypool's career is going to suck in Chicago I have to ask why is that? Because their QB is in what his 2nd year and was thrown into the fire? I can see him being a Kyle Murray type qb as he is starting to use his feet more instead of forcing throws. They actually have a better offense right now than the Packers so would his career have sucked here also?

We have a few down years coming I believe just like when Rodgers took over for Favre
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)
