If he would’ve thrown it deep to Watkins then you would be screaming that Rodgers should’ve taken the short throw to pick up the 1st down. When he goes short for the sticks, we bitch. When he goes deep as opposed to going short, we bitch.

On to Buffalo.

nteresting I post this and all of a sudden there is an article on it over in headlines

On Sunday, this tendency showed up at a pivotal moment on 4th and 1 in the 4th quarter. Sammy Watkins fell on his sword for pulling an audible on this play which was blown up by the guy that was supposed to be covering him, but it’s hard to argue that Watkins made the wrong call.

A younger, better version of Rodgers would have seen him flash open deep and easily converted the first down, potentially with a huge play or a touchdown. Instead, he threw a check down into the teeth of the defense, just like they drew it up. Maybe they convert the two yards if Watkins runs his assigned route, but it’s hardly a sure thing, especially against a defense that is looking for a no-read quick throw.

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

If Watkins blocks that guy and Doub catches the ball, it's an easy 4 yards minimum... and if he clean catches it, it's probably more.

They had two DBs there and three WRs... they had the numbers under the deep Safety could get there.

Just Watkins didn't block... so it became a two on two... and not a clean catch.

If Watkins signaled it to Rodgers, that's one thing... if he just completely randomly did it, that's something completely else.
