Ok i see people saying Doubs dropped this pass, but look at some other aspects of this. Let's look at Amari Rodgers, he actually runs for a block and then turns to wait for the ball. So was the ball supposed to go to him? Now let's look at Watkins, he doesn't even attempt to block anyone as he runs a go route and turns his head for the ball. No one is around him and it would have been a huge play. His guy actually puts the hit on Doubs and with Doubs short and trying to turn the ball comes loose. Then is it on Doubs dropping the ball I don't think he expected to be hit that quick. Then what is Mercedes doing as he was blocking the guy like it was a run. And watch Dillion he is running that option route and is going to be wide open across the middle. And finally the main question is who was the ball supposed to go to and is this fall on Rodgers? As I see 2 big plays open and Rodgers chose to take the wrong guy. I may be wrong but I am thinking this was a play they set up all day and the play was suppoe to goto Watkins with the Go route. What do you folks think?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Gotta wonder if he even knows the playbook or if he's freelancing.

I am still wondering why we are in shotgun and not under center handing the ball off or at least giving them impression we are playing power football and trick them with the pass.

Watkins looks to be running his route pretty halfheartedly. He glances over his shoulder, but he doesn't seem to think the ball will actually come his way. I'm not surprised the defense barely gives him a second glance. They probably assume he is functioning as a decoy. It strikes me as a lazy effort on his part.

If he would’ve thrown it deep to Watkins then you would be screaming that Rodgers should’ve taken the short throw to pick up the 1st down. When he goes short for the sticks, we bitch. When he goes deep as opposed to going short, we bitch.

On to Buffalo.

My guess is both plays are in the playbook, but that play was supposed to be two WRs blocking and one catching and picking up 3-6 yards.... based on it being 4th and 1.

But I'm guessing Watkins heard the other one and thought he was supposed to run deep.

Watkins was back on the field, but I sure don't think he was close to 100% yet ...

Yeah, I complained about the shut gun too, then realized it must have to do with Rodgers thumb, there is no other reason...

Also, seemed like the Packers had a couple of plays less than two yards to get a first down, and I don't remember them running a single rushing play on them...

With Rodgers bitching publicly (and what he said isn't wrong, but the fact that he's doing it publicly can be seen as wrong), I kinda wish someone would publicly point out that part of the issue is that playcallers (which Rodgers is a part of) have refused to run the ball in short yardage. Even while their WRs are trying to set the record for the most drops in a game, they still refuse to run the ball in short yardage ... someone needs to blame Rodgers for that publicly if he's going to publicly blame others for errors.

Sammy Watkins said his mistakes cost the Packers. I'm guessing that play is one of them. He didn't block and I think he was supposed to.

On to Buffalo.
