In three seasons, Packers safety Darnell Savage has eight interceptions. That is only one off the best figure in the 2019 draft class.

My biggest issue with the article is "new" position coach? I think he's new in title only, earnings the Safety Coach title when before I believe he was DB assistant coach specializing in Safeties.

So I'm guessing something happened (maybe another team offered him a job, like the Broncos or something), and Packers gave him a title and pay raise, but I believe he's been focusing on Safeties for years.

As far as Savage, I truely believe he might be a super star in the slot role. But they haven't been able to get a good #3 Safety to let him move around.

Though with both starters in contract years, I believe the Packers will be drafting a Safety in the top 4 rounds and I think it'll surprise people, especially since #3 Safety (despite being not the best player) got on the field more than 24% of the time for the defense. So they're an extremely import role player getting into eh field so often even without injuries.

I'm not sure where I read it or heard it, but there was rumblings that Savage was really coming on strong the second half of the season.
