By now I bet just about everyone has seen Will Smith slap Chris Rock at the Oscars.
I myself think it was way out of line. He didn't handle it in the right way. Violence is never the right way to react unless you are physically attacked.

My question is : would Smith have reacted the same way had it been Mike Tyson that made the same joke???
Tyson would have beat the crap out of him!😁

I still lean towards that shit was staged. No on was watching because no one gave a shit about a bunch of garbage Hollywood elites celebrating themselves and this conveniently made the event the topic of discussion. Best thing to do is ignore all of these empty souls.

Was it staged? Maybe. But I don't think so. Rock's reaction afterwards, when he was trying to pull it together to announce the next catagory seemed real. He seemed really shook up.

..the academy has banned Will Smith for 10 years for his violent actions at the Oscars.

So the reactions from some?
"It's racism!!!" Because of the length of the ban.
Can you believe that? The guy smacks a comedian on television, and some play the race card? So, what were they supposed to do? Give him a free pass? Chris Rock could have filed a police report. He chose not to.
The one thing I NEVER would have thought was people claiming racism.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
It's not like there was any doubt of what happened.
If they didn't take a strong stand, what would be next? A closed fist punch to the face being allowed? A knifing?
The only place they fell short in my view was not kicking Smith out immediately.

Will Smith can still win an Oscar or whatever. He just cannot attend for 10 years. At least, that's how I read it.

He can't even attend virtually. Although I don't see how they could police that.
