DeVondre Campbell re-signs with Packers

According to his agent, Joe Panos, it’s a five-year deal worth $50 million. He will get $16.25 million in Year 1, $21.5 million in Year 2 and $32.25 million by Year 3.

This is a welcomed surprise. I had written him off as going elsewhere, but the Packers lock him down for a relatively team friendly contract. Someone mentioned that he signed for less money than Blake Martinez. I don't know the specifics of Martinez's contract with the Giants off the top of my head, but Campbell's one season in Green Bay was the best from an inside linebacker since maybe Nick Barnett. They now bring back their starting linebacker corps from last season. Again, a welcomed surprise.

This is a welcome surprise. It has been a long time since the team had a solid ILB. Seems like most of the reliable pieces of the D will be in place.
