Move forward with JJ Molson?

I'm not quick to say the kicking woes were the doing of Mason Crosby. The snap. The hold. The blocking. It was all bad. That all said, he is getting up there in age and has a helluva cap hit. With teams going for it more on 4th down instead of FG's, do the Packers save over $2million in cap and run it with JJ Molson?

In four seasons at UCLA, Molson made 51-of-74 field-goal (68.9 percent). He made just 8-of-14 as a senior. As a sophomore, he made 17-of-21 for a career-high 81 percent. As a junior, he made a career-long 50-yarder. While his accuracy declined as a senior, he blasted 53 of his 61 kickoffs for touchbacks. That leg strength is what got him invited to the 2020 Scouting Combine.

Crosby seems to be losing leg strength quickly.

I don't ind if the Packers move on. Crosby might be better than whoever they bring in but he's not enough better to justify the cap hit.

It doesn't look like there will be a sure fire must have kicker coming out in the draft.

Parker White, K, South Carolina is probably the best. 16/17 this year including a 54 yarder. 2020 he was below .600. 2019 & 18 over .800 but as a freshman under .600. I am also concerned about kickers from the South playing in GB in Dec and Jan.

Lucas Havrisik, K, Arizona and Jonathan Doerer, K, Notre Dame seem to be the best of the rest. They have their own issues with consistency.

With the lack of ability for our STs to stop big plays, kicking it into the endzone can be big.
But with a career long of 50 yards, that's a concern.
