The Jets are a terrible football team. Getting a couple of Rodgers' buddies wouldn't change that. The ghost of Reggie White could possess Clay Mathews and make him come out of retirement to play with Rodgers in New York and Rodgers would still rather retire than go there.

Denver still seems like the top choice. Elway would love nothing more than to pull another Peyton-Manning-esq ride off into the sunset with Rodgers. It's not exactly west coast, but it's closer to CA. I'm not sure if Elway would give up multiple firsts for a QB in a contract year though, I could see him waiting until 2023 and trying to sign him if he hits the open market. In any case, they have 2 2nds and 2 3rds next year from the Von Miller trade, so they could probably make something happen if they wanted to.

Vegas made some sense when Gruden was there because you know he loves a QB, but I'm not sure now, it will depend on what the new coach thinks of Derek Carr, who is an above average starter and at 30 probably has a number of years left.

San Francisco is probably out now that they traded all of those picks for Trey Lance. Plus they're in the NFC.

Both LA teams have their QBs. The Rams might want to upgrade from Stafford if they had the chance, but they have no 1sts round picks until 2024, and again, NFC team so it's unlikely. The Chargers would be nuts to move on from Herbert and his rookie deal at this point.

I'm not sure how likely a trade is at this point. Unless I fundamentally misunderstand something, it looks like the Packers would be better off, from a cap perspective, signing Rodgers to a new, multi-year deal so they can push the cap hit into the future. It looks like if they trade him they'll have something like $26m or $19m (pre/post-June 1st) in dead money, and they would still be well over the cap.

Ok after I was sent home from work for covid testing or I should say because I have a negative test they still won't let me back to work until I get a doctor to say I can work and don't have covid. Sucks seeing I have a 45-minute drive to work and getting up at 2 am to go sucks. But anyhow I am up and awake so I was curious about top teams as the Packers, Bucs, and Chiefs and how they stand salary cap-wise for next year. It was deceiving because yes we are way over but to pretty much have the same starters back for next year would only include signing some of our own cheap free agents. The Bucs and Chiefs have a ton of cap space but need to fill some big holes. The Bucs have no running backs under contract and 2 of their 3 wrs are free agents and so is Gronk. These are the positions they lose their starters RB, WR, te, RG,lde, rde, wlb, fs, and rcb That should eat into their $32 million dollar cap space. I know I am rambling but I will have a reason for all this at the end lol. Now the Chiefs lose wr, FB, lt, rg, dt, lcb, and ss and they have $31 million in cap space. Now the Packers lose 3 wrs, lilb and punter but we are $34.5 million over. I suggest the guys we sign are Barnes, Campbell, Douglas, MVS and Lazard and Bojo. These guys should cost a ton and we might have to say by to Z Smith, I believe Preston would do an extension for another year which could split his money of 19 million into 2 years. Now to the elephant in the room I say we play hardball with Rodgers and just tell him we want the year 2022 from him and then he can have his outright release in 2023. We would go from a $26.8 million deadcap hit to a $7.6 million hit. If we let Cobb go and Z go and extend preston out to next year we should be right at the cap. and then do some wiggling to resign a few of these guys and we could have pretty much the same team as this year minus Adams. Thats just my 4am thoughts lol

wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.
Zero2Cool (23-Jun) : PFT claims Packers are having extension talks with Zach Tom, Quay Walker.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jun) : GB-Minnesota 2004 Wild Card game popped up on my YouTube page....UGH
beast (20-Jun) : Hmm 🤔 re-signing Walker before Tom? Sounds highly questionable to me.
