Why is the Green Bay Packers seem to always flounder with Special Teams? When it was just we couldn't get a return for a touchdown that was one thing. Now we're not able to snap it consistently, hold how the kicker wants, or even get a decent blocking unit going. The incidental contact by Malik Taylor is one of those things that just happens, but it cost the team points.

Is this the universe equally things out for having Aaron Rodgers after Brett Favre? You're going to have great QB play, but your special teams will be equally crap!

The rule of thumb tends to be that if the bottom of your roster sucks, your special teams will suck too. But the packers have had so many second and even third string guys come in and play well on both offense and defense, that I don't think this theory applies. They seem to have a pretty good roster. So what then, coaching, bad luck? Probably a bit of both.

Then there's swapping out the punter/holder at the start of the season, and swapping out the long snapper as well. Some amount of miscommunication should be expected with those changes. Hopefully as these guys get more reps together it will settle down a bit.

Losing their top kick returner certainly doesn't help.

I'm wondering did switching Long Snappers make things worse?

Also why can't we block well for FGs? Maybe we need to try a different method on those?

But one thing is that STs is usually hurt by injuries as the star ST players at usually required to play more offense and defense while the guys that didn't get on the field before play more on STs. And we're had a lot of injuries this year.

But yes, why I it so hard to find a decent long snapper? Also have they considered checking in on Brett Goode? I'm still in shock that Crosby has claimed that after years of practice, he's never ever seen a bad snap from Goode, not even in practice. So why did we move on from him?

Fun Fact

Goode married Monica Cayce (known for her fourth-place finish on The Amazing Race 9 with her then-boyfriend and now ex-husband Joseph) on November 1, 2014, where his groomsmen included teammates Tim Masthay, Aaron Rodgers and Mason Crosby bridesmaid Lyndee Luetjen.
