Aaron Rodgers, COVID and the Big Picture

Did the league know Rodgers wasn't vaccinated and try to look the other way because it didn't want a confrontation with one it's biggest stars?

Rodgers is welcome and able to find another job if he doesn't like it. Alternatively, he could retire, he certainly doesn't need the money.

Or you know, he could choose not to get vaccinated, like he has done - vaccination is not a requirement to play - and play by the same rules as all other players do & live with the consequences of his own actions.

My understanding is that the NFL stance is that it's the team's job to enforce the rules, and that they only get involved when a said team breaks said rules. (Or maybe they only focus on the positive tests).

In other words, if the media didn't point this out, no one would of done anything all season, but now that the media pointed it out... they're going to investigate the team (not the players, but if the team is enforcing the rules on said players).

And at minimum, they didn't seem to be enforcing the mask mandate with Rodgers for interviews. (Assuming they haven't been punishing him).

Though how many people get access to the players medical records? Or knew that the NFL declined to count Rodgers form of medical (whatever he did)?

In theory if everything but Rodgers is correct, they might just be told to fix it for the future. In there are more issues, the Packers could be in deep trouble.

Fuck you Aaron Rodgers and fuck you Green Bay Packers if they went along with this shit. This shit has killed so many people it didn’t have to, and if this shit is true, then he shares responsibility for the unnecessarily dead.

Stating someone has a virus, or has "tested positive" for a virus is libelous, if you cannot demonstrate that scientificially.

Which brings me to the point I do want to raise: IF Aaron Rodgers is forfeiting his paycheck as a result of not playing against the Chiefs, can the Packers get that amount credited to their salary cap or recapture the forfeited amounts? Given that Rodgers is the highest paid play, even a couple of game checks could amount to a couple of millions that the Packers use to pick up a player that is a free agent (or becomes one if waived.... OBJ). Interesting possibility if Rodgers going on COVID list helps the Packers' salary cap.... but I'm not sure what the rules are around this.

Interesting question, I don't know the answer but let's assume they can use the amount that isn't paid. From what I understand that is a "game check" per game he misses but it's not clear to me exactly how that breaks down. It looks like his base salary is 1.1m and guaranteed salary is 6.8m so that works out to about $465K per game. There's also 6.8m for a roster bonus but I'm not sure how that works (is that split per game he's on the active roster or already paid due to making the initial roster?) but if that is included it pushes it to $865K. The rest is workout bonus and prorated signing bonus (which shouldn't be included in the calculation afaik). So for 2 games that's ~0.9-1.7m depending.

And yes, Aaron is being pressed with draconian measures over these "vaccines." Aaron loses money and is effected professionally by this "test." It needs to be as "scientific" as it is claimed to be.

I'm Aaron's biggest critic. I'm the one who has been calling him out more than anyone. But this us bullshit. Aaron is right. The NFL is wrong. And when it us pounted out, it will be easy to see.

You won't have to take my word for it. I bet you will agree, once it is explained to you.

Honestly, I don't think many are blasting Aaron Rodgers for not being vaccinated as much as people are pissed off that he deliberately lead others to believe he was vaccinated. I am guessing people don't like feeling they had one pulled over on them and that is kind of what Rodgers did here with his response. He was point blank asked if he was vaccinated and said "Yeah. I'm immunized".

As we know with Kirk Cousins and Cole Beasley even if he outright said no I'm not vaccinated, he'd get some heavy backlash. Social Media is littered with slacktivists who think they're on some moral high horse and have to pound their chest.
