One of the problems with picking up a TE mid season is AR. How long will it take for the new player to learn the system? How long will it take for Aaron Rodgers to trust him enough to even throw the ball his way? It may be a wasted pick up.

Packers couldn't afford his contract cap hit, even if Eagles released him, Packers couldn't afford to claim that contract... and Packers have done every cap trick in the book with the exception of releasing/trading away guys. In theory they could extend Rodgers or Adams, but their contract issues there.

Considering this is a buyers market because there isn't a lot of cap space to go around... I don't think he's going anywhere... unless maybe just maybe the GM is feeling the hot seat and thinks this will help him, but I think he's fired either way, so this doesn't help him.
