Chase's 70 yard TD · PACKERSHOME

Matt LaFleur said the Packers and Bengals had a similar check word or phrase that tripped up the Packers on the 70 yard TD pass to WR J Chase. Packers were supposed to rush, but heard a "check" and went into coverage instead. That is why Joe Burrow hads all the time in the world to throw.

I'm still surprised Darnell Savage didn't pick/block that pass.

LaFleur clarified what happened at the end of the half with the soft rush. He said the D-linemen heard a check from the #Bengals that triggered a change in how they rush, but that check is actually in the #Packers' offense and doesn't exist in Cincinnati's. They reacted to it.

Also if I was LaFleur, I wouldn't of told the media that, as now as an opponent, I'm watching that tape to figure out what the check call was, in hopes of repeating it...

Seems like Savage was doing that thing Woody and Sam Shields used to do, fake like he's beat, bait the QB into throwing, then get the pick. It worked in that Matt Flynn game against Dallas, but Savage didn't get the ball.

He got there in time, he just whiffed on the ball.
