Cordarrelle Patterson has played for both the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. How about he signs with another NFC North team this offseason, the Green Bay Packers? Patterson is a free agent and still available, but there's absolutely no doubt he could help the Packers, particularly for his work on special teams. If there's one

The Packers NEED a CB (OR TWO)! But they also NEED a returner (OR TWO)!

I think most would agree RB/WR Ervin and/or draft picks would be the first options.

But one of the best current kick returners is still available in Cordarrelle Patterson, and has some nice speed which Packers were reportedly looking for in WRs and Patterson has experience at WR and a bit as a RB. Whole he's not great at reading blocks, he's got speed and power to break tackles if you can get him started.

I seriously doubt it happens, but Packers need to sign at least another FA or two to help CB, DL, OL and/or returner. I'm guessing Ervin is in the cards, but he doesn't nessarily have to be the only one.

I don’t think the Packers can afford a guy that is only a return specialist. If he was better at WR then he is, then maybe he would be worth the money. To me, he hasn’t shown to be any more then that.
Ervin is already on the team, is a decent returner, and knows the plays and can make some plays on offense.
If the Packers were not already cash strapped, then I’d say why not try for him?
I just think they can use their money and roster spot in better ways.

You're probably right, they probably won't sign two vet returners, but probably scouting rookies.

I wish there was a list to see which players were used more as returners in college, and split it between punt and kick returners.

Though I think they might sign one, and currently, Ervin is a FA and currently on no team.

I honestly didn’t even know that Ervin wasn’t signed.
Maybe if the Packers could use that roster spot/money to sign Patterson, it would be worth it for special teams help. I don’t have any idea what he would cost though.
Let’s face it, field position is huge! We have seen how it cost the Packers in the past.
Look what Desmond Howard for the team in the SB 31 season. He was HUGE!

Which in fairness, I'm pretty sure he'd say to all teams right now. Give me your best offer, or any offer, if I don't have one.
