Forget PFFs grading for a minute and just re-read those numbers. Just turns his part of the field into a no fly zone.

Does anyone remember when people were saying Josh Jackson was gonna be a better corner and should have been taken in the 1st?

We need to draft more CBs to go with him, after the 49ers traded up for their WR, I felt pretty sure we were doing one of the following

Staying put and drafting a CB, trading up in front of the Ravens to grab ILB Patrick Queen (which I thought well in advance of the April), or trading back and grabbing a WR or CB. And the Bears got the guy I was most interested in.

Though, I believe PFF said the Packers could of had the top rated rookie CB L’Jarius Sneed simply by keeping their 4th rounder as he went a couple of picks after that to the Chiefs. I'll always wonder a bit (though it doesn't matter), if the Packers could of stayed put and drafted Love without trading up.

Thanks for posting this Mucky. I saw the first pix yesterday and was thinking about starting a thread. I'm glad I didn't. You did a better job than I would have.

Jaire is really over rated. If Kevin King wasn't so awful, Jaire would be targeted more. You guys are silly to not see this.

But yes, they still seemed to think Jackson and his size and ball skill would be better, though Jackson was EXTREMELY raw, seemed like they only played one type of coverage at Iowa and he only got a lot of playing time in one year, and while his physical assets say he should be a good bump and run guy, his backpedal was horrible for the NFL level. But Gute seems to draft for highest potential, which leaves a lot of developing to be completed.

But more than this I remember some fans being absolutely pissed about the trade down when we could of had the stud Safety the Chargers ended up drafting, and that dude is great! At least when he's healthy, he's had troubles staying healthy. But was basically traded down a couple spots in the first round to turn a 3rd rounder into a 1st rounder, that's a good deal. And turned that 1st rounder and two 4th rounders (was one for Haha?) and turned that into Savage. Which is the one time I feel like Gute clearly did well by his pattern of trading away 4th rounders.

Of course, they might of had an already agreed on spot should a player they're interested falls to them, or casual relationship, like the Packers have had with the Seahawks as they like to trade down in the first round and Packers like to trade up. Plus the two GMs might know each other well and have worked together at some point.
