What if Rodgers, Jennings, Grant, and Woodson all go down with season-ending injuries and we end up winning, oh, seven games? How will you feel about Thompson then?

Pretty miserable thus far this off-season as usual. We may not win many games this year but we'll have lots of cap space, and that's what matters.

It's like dying with a million dollars. You have a million but yet you never enjoyed your life.

I bet Ted Thompson digs through trash cans for aluminum cans.

Fiscally conservative is fine to a point, Ted goes overboard. I wonder why FA's wouldn't want to come here?

Their profit or loss is in tune with how much cap space they use..Not exactly same amount but it does affect it according to M.Murphy on WSSP last year during an interview...

So since the profits are affected somewhat, are they trying to stash away some of that for the un-capped years?

and if they knew they were going to have to do that, would they handcuff Ted?

read this

but in part

question asked MM

if you spent your entire allowed salary cap last year, and had 0 $ left, would your profit margin been the same at the end of the fiscal year?

Marks reply

There would have been a little bit of a swing...

A deal was made a few years back but the owners had the option to opt out of the deal which they did last year. So the current cap deal expires next year.

2010 will have football, but uncapped. 2011 could be a work stoppage or maybe it was 2012.
