Receiver Reggie Begelton made his NFL debut Monday night, briefly replacing Malik Taylor. He played two offensive snaps and two special teams against the Falcons. On Tuesday, the Packers cut him. The Packers signed Begelton to the active roster with Allen Lazard and Davante Adams out. Lazard had core muscle surgery, and Adams missed his [more]

I have never been big on Reggie being much help but why bring him up to the 53 then not use him and the release him? Couldn't they tell he wasn't what they were looking for when he was on the PS? Perhaps he failed in blocking when it was live action and not practice simulation.

But yeah, I'm not big on him either, CFL WRs, even the huge stars, for the most part just haven't worked out in the NFL in recent years.

Now the Packers don't have to pay cap for him during the bye week and have two weeks to look for a potential replacement... though I would think they'd have someone in mind before release him.

St. Brown coming back? Grabbing Kumerow from the Bills PS? Signing a veteran FA WR? Bringing Jordy back? 😉 (Not happening)

Don't they have 3 roster spots open then? Maybe one for Snacks Harrison.

If he's on the 53 in three weeks and plays every game, then it was just to save money.

I too am watching the WR corps. Yet above that interest is the Inside LB and the critical need to aggressively trade/deal for a strong ILB. Gutekunst must act on this ASAP !

1) People were down right raving about ILB Martin until his injury, which was supposed to be a six week injury, two weeks before the season, so he might be back after the bye week.

2) UDFA ILB Barnes might be a steal, he's smart, athletic, and I saw where someone (I believe PFF maybe?) had him among the least missed tackles in the NFL (which our defense needs more of).

I understand that they might not be perfect as rookies, but develop the hell out of them season and they might be amazing next season.

Also, it's extremely hard to get a complete LB in this day and age, especially via FA or trade... they might be able to find another ILB Goodson (Jake Ryan is available), but not sure we're going to find guys clearly better than what we got.

Also Runyan is another guy that has shown some promise that I have been wanting to develop, as he didn't look like he was that far behind Patrick, and he has a LOT more upside potential than Patrick.

Jackson is very hit and miss, great coverage one play, horrible coverage or grabbing the next.

Hollman looked better than Jackson to me, but they have him behind Jackson, at least so far. Hollman might have some potential, but he hasn't been able to pass Jackson yet.

DT, Keke is starting to develop which is nice and Lancaster at times looks good at NT.

It'll be interesting how they use Clark's once healthy again...
