Green Bay may be down two starters on defense in addition to their two top receivers. News was bad enough out of Green Bay on the injury front already. With Allen Lazard and Christian Kirksey on injured reserve, Davante Adams revealed on Twitter Monday that he will not play in this evening's game between the Packers and Atlanta Falcons .
But wait. There's more.
The Packers listed nine players as questionable on the final injury report this week, and it appears that the team may be down two more starters when it takes the field this evening. According to NFL.com's Tom Pelissero , safety Darnell Savage and defensive tackle Kenny Clark are both "unlikely" to play tonight.
For Clark , this would be a third straight game as an inactive after he differed a groin injury in the opening game against Minnesota. The Packers have resorted to even lighter personnel without him, including a heavy reliance on three edge rushers with only one or two defensive linemen.
Savage, meanwhile, made his first appearance of 2020 on the injury report this week. If he cannot play, look for Will Redmond to start in his place, with Raven Greene and Vernon Scott taking reps as well. Of course, Redmond and Greene have also pitched in as hybrid linebackers, but that may be less feasible with Savage out - even though it may be necessary as the Packers start Ty Summers in Kirksey's place at the mile linebacker spot.
Stay tuned for the list of inactives 90 minutes before kickoff to confirm these players' statuses.
