At first I thought it was a stupid throw. Then I found out it was 4th down. I changed my thought. Perfect play. You throw it in the endzone hoping YOUR guy catches it and if he doesnt you're hoping the other guy does to get them pinned in the 20.
Brett got lucky, his player jumped and got the ball out of the air. Credit Brett for being slick and not getting caught and being able to get the ball off.

Yes. On 4th and 13 from the red zone, you have nothing to lose. If you throw a pick, so what? They get the ball at the 2. Probably a good thing. If the pass goes incomplete, so what? Now, if your guy gets a TD...
The only stupid thing Brett could have possibly done was take a sack and/or fumble. Just throw it up and pray.
That's another thing that makes Brett great. He plays the odds. The odds are the pass can be caught (for a TD or at worse, on their 2 yard line), it can go incomplete, or it gets intercepted and the guy gets tackled at their own 1 or 2 yard line.
