Only one Packers player opted out for 2020. Far more Packers fans than that did. Packers CEO Mark Murphy said in an interview posted at the team's official website that more than 80 percent of Lambeau Field season-ticket holders opted out for 2020, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. Murphy linked that lack of interest [more]

And when they talked about letting fans in, there were talking 12,000 fans, in a stadium that can hold 81,441, in other words less than 14.75%.

So 20% of season tickets holders would then take up a larger percentage of the availability seats, meaning percentage wise less available percentage of tickets for non-season ticket holders.

They'd need to let in 16,289 fans to have a larger percentage of non-season holder tickets.

My wife and I discussed it and then I waited and thought about it for a week before I opted out. Some of the factors are I am not sure which games I would be assigned. During a normal season I have home games 2 and 5. Back in March I booked hotel rooms for those games. There was no guarantee that I wold have the same games. Also I am not sure how many games they assign to me. It's a 4 hour drive. I didn't want to be faced with driving to Green Bay 8 times. Wearing a mask for more than 3 hours is not very exciting prospect. The extra security features we will face. What if I caught COVID while attending a game? It seems pretty unlikely but the thought of getting it in such a frivolous manner isn't worth it. I feel that it's more likely I catch it from the hotel than at the stadium. Eating out will also be a hassle.

Finally I really believe they will come to the conclusion not to allow fans in the stands for any games.
