It's been slow, so I'm trying to post something just to get it going a little bit, I know, not a lot of NFL news right now.
But one thing is the Texans deal with DT Timmy Jernigan fell though for whatever reason, according to NFL before the physical, so it wasn't that. But the Texans did use a high pick on a rookie, and it might of been that, plus since their head coach has become the GM, they've done some screwy things.
Jernigan was drafted by the Ravens before being traded to the Eagles three years later, but the Packers have picked up a couple of Ravens draft picks since Gute bought his friend from the Ravens over, especially pass rushers in Z. Smith and Tim Williams (on practice squad last year), Smith was on the DL with the Ravens and played two years with Jernigan.
But the NFL is a what have you done for me lately league, and lately Jernigan has been injury prone, with a back injury in 2018 limiting him to 3 games and in 2019 a foot injury limited him to 10 games.
But while with the Ravens he was rated one of the best run stopping 3-4 DE including best one year, and his one fully healthy year with the Eagles, he started in 15 regular season games as he helped his team win the Super Bowl.
But the Packers can't afford much, but then again, his deal with the Texans was only one year and up to $3.75 million. Which he'll most likely be getting less now.
Just throwing it out there as a surprise possiblity. Probably doubtful, but you never know.
