First, lets compare two mystery players' combine numbers (yes one is clearly AJ Dillon).

Player 1:
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 247lbs
Arm Length: 33"
Hand size: 8 3/4"

40 Yards: 4.54 seconds
Bench Press: 22 Reps
Vert Jump: 37"
Broad Jump: 130"
3 Cone: 7.20 seconds

Player 2:
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 247lbs
Arm Length: 31 5/8"
Hands: 9 5/8"

40 Yards: 4.53 seconds (0.01 second faster)
Bench Press: 23 Reps (1 Rep more)
Vert Jump: 41" (4" higher)
Broad Jump: 131" (1" longer)
3 Cone: 7.19 seconds (0.01 second faster)

Which one would you take?

Player 2: is RB A.J. Dillion

Player 1: is

RB Derrick Henry

Well they got their 4th round pick. Too bad they did it in the 2nd round. Too bad they had to sit and watch every halfway decent WR go off the board and were forced to go elsewhere for offensive help.

This dude is gonna win games for us in December. And January.

Remember all those close games last year? We needed to drain the clock? This guy is gonna get us first downs. He's gonna beat people up in the 4th quarter. When the Dline is worn down, this guy is gonna be the highlight reel.

Matt wanted an outside zone offense. We ran outside like shit last year, ran inside very well. Dillon is an inside zone guy.

If this dude didn't run a 4.5, i would agree that he's just another guy. But he's got a unique combination there.

Dillon and Jones. Thunder snd Lightning.

Also at the same point, good RBs can over come more mistakes by the blocking, or counter a good defensive move. Dillion doesn't have great quickness, but does he have any other weaknesses? He runs a faster 40 time than Jones... he's physical and can wear teams out, reads his blocking pretty well.

One interesting take that was thrown out on Twitter: with Dillon, you can line Jones up all over and not lose the threat of running the ball.
