If you are saying the death rate at this point is not accurate (which I think your are), I totally agree. If you are saying the ultimate accurate death rate doesn't matter, I disagree.

Yes, I'm suggesting that the statistical accuracy of population tracking for this virus is completely bullshit at this point.

Testing still has some value in terms of rise and fall of new cases, but that's about it. People will be taking those numbers to create stats, but those stats will only be valid if you either assume the data is complete (which in this case is clearly wrong assumption), or if you make assumptions on how off the numbers are... which considering this virus spread is like nothing we've seen before (at least with half way moderate tracking devices), those assumptions have a huge chance of being quite wrong or personal biased to the end result of getting the answer that the person wanted to get before starting the research.

An accurate rate does matter a lot! But these numbers for population have less chances of being accurate than Tim Boyle does of starting all the games at QBs this season and making the playoffs.
