Aaron Rodgers letting his voice be heard. I like it. He thinks for the 17th game, the Players need something more important than easier off-season. I just hope it doesn't mean an extra BYE.

It is an interesting dichotomy. Players at the top of the food chain are making big bucks. One more paycheck for a "measly" $250,000 doesn't impress them at all. The guys on the bottom need the extra payday. The extra 2 roster spots are huge to guys who may be looking at practice squad status.

The change will benefit more players than it hurts.

Edit- I wold like to see the 3rd preseason game be played at a somewhat neutral site. Camp Randall, Northwestern's stadium and the like.
I suppose the same will be said for the 17th game. Personally I am hoping that game gets added to my package. Right now the Green Package gets 6 games and the Gold 2. Plus a preseason game each. Let the Green get 6 and 1 and the Gold 3 and 0. šŸ˜€

Also, would the extra game be put at the beginning or the end of the season?
In Green Bay, the end of the season could end up being horrible weather. While southern teams or ones with indoor stadiums, it wouldn’t affect much.
So many questions and not many solid answers.

Actually I have heard they want the SB to be played a week later. So brutal GB it is unless NFL Inc puts them on the road every year for the final game.
Also I read somewhere the teams will have 2 weeks to prepare for Week 1 instead of the current 1 week. I guess they can always start training camp a little sooner.

WPR, I heard Pouncey ranting about how stupid it was.

This is separating the union....rich guys to poor guys..the expendables..the gladiators. The rich guys don't need the money, the poor guys are the gladiators who want the money.

The players really have poor negotiators.

I'm honestly surprised the players didn't get more... I thought they'd have AT LEAST 50% of the profit, especially if giving up the 17th game, but not even at 49% yet... and thought they'd argue their contracts should get fair contract worth for the 17th game.

As for less practice, I'm completely against that, players aren't developing nearly as well since the last CBA... yes it's something the owners don't really care about and so they easily give it up, but it's seriously hurting the game, at minimum for the players with less than four years experience or new to a team, etc, etc.

I also dislike the 14 teams in the playoffs, enough bad teams already make the playoffs, the Eagles and Texans had zero chance of winning the Super Bowl as it was.... even if they can beat a team that chokes like the Bills did... and now almost half the league will be making the playoffs... and with 7 spots and only 1 bye week, more teams than ever, could have the real option of just saying, we're stuck in the middle and have no shot at getting a bye week, nor being kicked out of the playoffs, so we're just going to rest our players before the playoffs.

That’s something that bugs me about the NBA. So many teams make the playoffs, that teams that have no real business (or chance) are made fake playoff teams.
Now the NFL wants to do that too?
Why even have a season? Just make every game a ā€œone and doneā€ playoff, and the last team without a loss is the ā€œchampionā€.
(I’m being sarcastic)
