I don't know about that. It felt like the game was over after the first two drives.

After the 49ers beat the Vikings on Saturday, conventional wisdom suggested that San Francisco preferred a rematch with the Packers to a rubber match with the Seahawks. But there’s no guarantee that Packers-49ers II will also end in a first-half TKO.

The 49ers won the Week 12 Sunday night game easily, by the score of 37-8. By intermission, the home team led 23-0. Obviously, however, things could be very different when the score resets to 0-0 on Sunday.

Check out the first game, the condensed version of which can be seen through the NFL’s Game Pass feature. Several key moments and decisions helped fuel the lead that started at 7-0, moved to 10-0, then to 13-0, next to 20-0, and finally to 23-0 within the first 30 minutes of action.

The Packers had the ball first. Just as they began to get things rolling, however, an unsportsmanlike conduct foul against receiver Davante Adams at the end of the play that had given Green Bay a first down on their own 40 pushed the ball back to the 25. Three plays later, the 49ers defensive front devoured quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the ball came out, the 49ers recovered at the five, and one play later a Tevin Coleman touchdown (plus extra point) made it 7-0.

It was a close game if you ignore all the scores the 49ers had in the game.

I think Mike Florio would have commented on Little Big Horn as follows:

Although the fight was an overwhelming victory for the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho, Crazy Horse and Chief Gall were not able to scalp as many as they had hoped. While the 7th Cavalry, a force of 700 men, suffered a major defeat, George Armstrong Custer had some very fine moments. He pulled his sword from his scabbard flawlessly before being harpooned by Arapaho arrows.

Even though 5 of the 7th Cavalry's twelve companies were annihilated and Custer was killed, as were two of his brothers, a nephew and a brother-in-law, the actual casualty count was 274 dead and 55 severely wounded vs 244 Redskins. So the stats clearly show, Custer had his moments.

That's certainly not the way I saw it.
That was an ass kicking from start to finish.

Most lopsided games can become potentially close if you remove a few huge plays here and there. Yeah, the Packers really screwed up starting out but they never recovered.

My hope is, that SF will take the game for granted, and the Packers will catch them off guard.
The Pack will have to have its BEST complete game if the season if they have ANY hope of a win.
These opportunities don’t come along very often, and to not take full advantage of it would be a waste.

Lot's said about this last game but this team has a lot of good players and are better than that. They have quietly gotten better against the run and I was reading where they have only given up one big play of plus 40 yards since that SF game.Huge improvement over the first 2/3rds of the season. I expect to see Rodgers use his feet more then he has all year. This is the kind of time and place he pulls out all stops and does whatever it takes to get the W. He smells it. Just get him to the 4th quarter.

I’m so hyped about this game.
I’d like to see the Packers go all the way.
I’ll be so let down if they don’t do it.
Yes, I know they have accomplished more then we could have imagined. Had they lost last week, I think it would have been more accepted. But now, one game away from the super bowl 🏟.
Man.....can my heart take it?
