When people say hey your from upper Michigan you must be a lions fan

I lived up in Pembine Wisconsin for a few years, which is only about 20 miles from Iron Mountain Michigan. The Shopko store there had just as much Packer stuff as Lions stuff.
Heck, Da UP should be a part of Wisconsin anyway!

Not too many years ago there was a Yooper poll taken regarding favorite NFL teams.
About 70 percent of respondents were Packers fans and only about 20 percent identified as Lions fans.

I was born in the UP (Marquette) and grew up in Green Bay, but most of my family is still up there. Yoopers root for the Packers by and large. Yeah, I mean, we would like to see the Lions do well too (not against the Packers of course), but we understand it's a lost cause.
