So what?!?

It was a stupid move and, with Gary in the car, leads me to gravely question his leadership.

Spare me the pain management argument, its baloney. He could legally acquire and use CPD oil or many other alternatives for pain management.

Cheesey accurately assessed:

Theses guys have it made, and are to stupid to follow the law, putting their livelihoods in danger. Also driving under the influence puts innocent people in danger.
There is NO EXCUSE for that kind of crap.
They should know better.
But money can’t buy BRAINS.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Gary & Keke were in the car with him. None of them were under the influence, according to the cop. The blunts were in the back of the car in a bag. When questioned about it, Smith immediately said “what weed?”, he then went on to say “I’ll take the blame, put it on me.”

That makes me feel like it was either Gary’s or Keke’s. Smith just took the fall for it.

Also, he was speeding in a work zone in the evening. I can’t say for sure, but they probably weren’t actively working on the road. I know for a fact that it’s easy to accidentally speed in a work zone.

Not giving him a pass, just saying look at all the facts and understand the whole situation before raking him over the coals.

Those team pain specialists aren't allowed to give it to them. It's used legally in more than half the country at this point for pain management and it will more than likely be allowed in the next cba signed in the off season.

Lots of things are illegal, doesn't make them all evil.

As far as I know, it isn’t. If it becomes legal, that’s a whole different thing then. Think these clowns aren’t going to be drug tested by the NFL now?

Also, there are LEGAL things that ARE evil. Just legal or illegal, doesn’t make it right or wrong.

And as far as speeding in a work zone, signs are posted. If you make the decision to speed in one, you get a ticket. And 20-24 over the speed limit is not as small mistake. That means he was really going far over the posted
limit.
I don’t think anyone would make a big deal had pot not been found in the car. He would get a ticket, and it would be done.
If you get pulled over with an open container of alcohol in your car, you get busted whether you’re under the influence or not.
Pot was in the car. It never should’ve been.
As I said before, think this won’t make the NFL drug test all of them constantly now?
All I need to know was that it was in the car, and NEVER should’ve been.
Just plain stupid. No excuses.
Just to be clear, I don’t hate these guys, and we are all just human. I’m just really disappointed with them. They now will reap the results of their decisions.
Kids (and us old geezers) look up to them. Not a good thing in this case.

No drugs were found on any of the players, but three blunts — hollowed-out cigars filled with marijuana — and a vaping cartridge were found inside a duffel bag in the rear of the SUV. The blunts were in a package of Backwoods cigars.

According to the reports, when asked about them again by a second deputy, after he read Smith his Miranda rights, Smith said, "What weed?" before saying "I'll put it on me," when asked if the blunts and the vaping cartridge were his.

Sounds like either he really didn't know they were in the car, or he was pretending that he didn't know.

Rashan Gary and Kingsley Keke were also in the car. Though Smith did partake in smoking away from the car.

So....Smith admitted he smoked pot earlier. The NFL will go after him, and the Packer brass can’t be very happy with him.
I don’t think that smoking that stuff is any worse then drinking beer or Booze.
But one is legal, the other isn’t. That’s the difference.
So you have to pay when you choose to break the law.
How much it will cost him in the end? I don’t know.
He knew the possible consequences when he chose to smoke it.
I don’t think he’s “evil”. Just a lot dumber then I thought.

Here's the real question no one is asking: why the hell are these guys driving themselves in the first place? Why aren't they all hiring chauffeurs and getting blowjobs in the back seats of their stretch limos like proper superstars?

I'm guessing he'd "lose" more with multiple offenses.

Any guess on how many NFL players would rather live in a state where this would be a non-factor? My guess is a significant percentage of the league. But hey, at least Green Bay Packers players get to enjoy the great weather!

TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : Unfortunately he doesn't seem ready to be an emergency QB.
TheKanataThrilla (27-Aug) : As a Canadian and a follower of Canadian University football. I am rooting for him

dfosterf (27-Aug) : Clayton Tune cut by the Cards? Don't know if that's the guy, we shall see
