This from a well-respected contributor elsewhere.

What he finds interesting, and I find alarming, is that the author of this draft has a reputation for accurate reporting. I will tell you what I told them. If Ted Thompson makes this selection, I am running...not walking... to the shed for my pitchfork, the tar, feathers and torch.

As I sit here and whip myself into a froth trying to figure out how the 2009 Packers are going to field a decent 3-4, coupled with an extremely shaky offensive line situation, this guy comes out with this:

CBS Sports; Bob Rang Mock Draft

If I feel this way, a notorious "apologist" for Ted, my imagination isn't good enough to figure out what would happen with those that already want his head on a platter.

If Ted pulls THAT trigger at 9, I think Ted would be wise to get on Mike's train and get the hell out of Wisconsin before he got run out of it on a rail.

I think it's interesting that someone else agrees with me on the Raiders taking a LT (See Rock's 2009 NFL Mock. Yes, shameless plug). His going for speed mentality is taking way to serious.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind it that much, although I never knew that he was seen as a top 5 talent. The RB class from last year was really strong, maybe he's trying to get one of these guys for himself.

The biggest problem is a luxury one though. What on earth do we want to do with all these RBs. Trade them for draft picks? I'm pretty sure we can't get alot more than a 3rd, maybe a 2nd for Grant after his okay season last year. He would be the odd-man out in this scenario though, I recon. His contract won't make it any easier either.

It is a risky pick though. If he pans out like a Matt Fort, Steve Slaton or a Chris Johnson, he'll be a genius and get another year at the wheel. If he pans out like Darren McFadden did in his first year and a player like Orakpo or Raji is wreaking havoc for another team, he can better start packing his bags.

Hell with the defensive collapse scenario in another thread.. if the Packers turn in this draft card.. I think I would have to revisit the leg through the TV set potential.. that would be mind boggling.. yes I would be officially pissed off.

I'm glad you found it. I accidentally wrote "Bob" instead of "Rob".

I went looking for it as well. In my travels, I came across a comment regarding this year's picks by him.

The title in the thread, and I didn't even look at the content (self-explanatory) was, "Put down the crack-pipe Rob."

I thought that summed it up nicely for me.

Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
