I am not sure what to think of this. I can't say Brady is lying. I can't say ... I don't know what to say.

Poppinga is a genuine idiot or just doesn't understand what politics / business is (or both).

When you go to an interview the person that's going to reject you is going to be nice about your rejection and make you look like we decided to go with another direction, instead of telling it to your face that: YOU SUCK WE RATHER INVEST OUR MONEY TO SOMEONE THAT MIGHT BE MORE PRODUCTIVE.

He should know he barely listed another seasons in the NFL after that.

Ted Thompson relied on the draft and unfortunately some bad picks and some injuries cost this team some important players (pro bowl caliber).

Nick Collins + Jermichael Finely ... which are important and hard positions to fill in void specially to that talent level. Players like Woodson - Jenkins left for cap reasons as they we're aging and we needed money to resign talents like Aaron Rodgers - Clay Matthews Cobb Nelson etc...

People forget that there's a cap and you need to cut your losses somewhere and make sure you maintain a competitive team each year. At the end of the year it's a business and having a playoff team is better then a non playoff team for the city and the profits even if you risk not being in the SB each year in and out.

Let's not forget that for the past 5-6 years we had the worst defensive coordinator which did not adapt to any changes or adjustments during the game. I also feel that some of the players that didn't excel in our defensive had to do with the poor defensive coaching staff not being able to groom them or play them to there talent.

Anyways Poppinga you're welcome for the SB ring but trust me ... you weren't a major difference maker, we would of won with or without you!

That soundbite sounds unbelievable.

So Poppinga is claiming that he was meeting with Thompson because he was being released, and Thompson told him, with Rodgers we don't need defense anymore we're just going to outscore teams?

1) Why would you tell any player that you're about to release anything? That within itself doesn't make sense (of course people do things that don't make sense... so it's possible... but seems less likely with quiet Ted Thompson to be over speaking? Seems unlikely).

2) I think everyone knows you need both offense and defense.

Though to back up Poppinga statement, that was the year I thought they needed to draft some pass rushers (as they had none outside Matthews and Raji... and they drafted three straight offensive players).

But still... you don't say that.

Also the twitter comment claims that's why the Packers defense dropped... I think it had a much larger factor with Jenkins leaving via FA, Collins being lost to injury (career over), Raji losing the chip on his shoulder, not enough pass rush options or Safety options and the old CBs starting to lose a step with injuries mounding (and a worse pass rush)... and then Matthews and Raji kept trying to make up for it, by being over aggressive in their pass rushing which opened up some huge running lanes.

Anyhow, Kyle gets it. It's better to have a dominant defense with bad offense than a dominant offense with bad defense.

dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.

Mucky Tundra (20-Jun) : GB-Minnesota 2004 Wild Card game popped up on my YouTube page....UGH
