Oren Burks is someone I thought would be good. What do you think about him? Think he's gonna do well next to Martinez?

After he was drafted and watching his film, I thought he'd be what I call a year 3 guy (meaning I think he's got a lot of developing to do and want be ready in the first two to truely breakout).

One of the most over looked things about Martinez is that he can have a really bad angle on a guy, but if he can get one arm around the ball carrier, he can take them down better than almost anyone else, which makes up for his less athletic skills to some degree.

Burks is the opposite, in that he's a great athlete, can go sideline to sideline, but I felt like I saw too many times when he was good position, got two arms and maybe even a shoulder in on a guy, and ball carrier kept going or barely was tripped up, when they should have been taken down easily. Happen in last year's preseason games too.

I think if he can learn to tackle the ball carriers better than he could be very good, if not, he might always be sub par. But otherwise, I think he just needs the game to mentally slow down for him, which it happens at different rates for different players.

I like his length and athleticism. I think he certainly fits the height-weight-speed combo that GB has been targeting in players over the last two or three off-seasons. I do worry about his ability to hold up against the run. He's not much of a thumper and I could see him wearing down late in games.
