According to multiple reports, the team is releasing defensive lineman Mike Daniels.

Perry and Wilkerson are still out there, if we need someone.

This is a little surprising. Maybe they want to free up some cap space to extend Clark? Or were they simply out of cap space after extending Lowry?

They must really like what they've seen in Gary and Keke to make this move.

It's very interesting that they outright released him rather than trading, but perhaps no teams were willing to take on his contract.

Every GM does it.
They want to build "their team".

Everyone wanted changes, don't act so surprised.

We couldn’t get something?
Off the field unknowns?
Did he fully recover from his injury?

I can’t help but think we are about to sign/ trade for somebody,..perhaps an ILB

Browns GM John Dorsey asked about DT Mike Daniels. Mentions that the wire doesn't come out til 4. "I don't like to talk about other teams' players, but he's a good player."

Probably didn't like the lol of his foot in his precamp physical. That and they knew this was his last year anyway. Cut him, sign the cheap guy, give him a chance to catch on elsewhere.

Gutekunst was just a Ted Thompson disciple, he won the power struggle when it was time for Ted to step down.

The GM is the one that makes the final decisions .

Other than Rodgers,

Lowry is the first player to get an extension that Ted Thompson drafted.

I will not be surprised to see Bulaga released before the end of TC.

Again, it's what every GM does.
