But are the things Moore describes as being his challenges really small? Last year at this time, Green Bay Packers  fans were probably pretty excited about J’Mon Moore . At the start of OTAs, he looked to have a leg up among the trio of rookie wide receivers that the Packers had just drafted, if for no other reason than that he was the first one to come off the board.
But as the spring clicked over to summer in 2018, Moore — a fourth-round draft pick — found himself behind fifth-round pick Marquez Valdes-Scantling  and sixth-rounder Equanimeous St. Brown , as well as career practice squadder Jake Kumerow. In an interview this week, Moore explains some of the reasons why that was and why he is hoping for a clean slate with the Packers’ new coaching staff.
Meanwhile, across the NFL there was a big piece of news breaking on Monday night. There is suddenly a huge name available on the open market for teams that need help on the defensive line, as Gerald McCoy  is on his way out of Tampa Bay. The former third overall pick will be looking for a new team for the first time in his NFL career.
Here’s what’s going on around Green Bay and the NFL as OTAs are getting underway.
Packers' J'Mon Moore foresees fresh start in Matt LaFleur's system | Packersnews.com The "small things" were a problem for Moore, who mentions assignments, audibles, and trust with his quarterback as areas he did not comprehend last year. Unfortunately, those sound like bigger things to this writer, particularly when your QB is Aaron Rodgers .
There’s still room for Josh Jones in the Packers defense | Packers Wire Zach Kruse wrote this a few days ago. It's not included here to poke fun at Zach at all; rather, Jones  might have been better off reading it before deciding not to show up for OTAs this week .
Buccaneers release Gerald McCoy after nine seasons in Tampa Bay | SI.com McCoy's sudden appearance on the free agent market is a bit stunning, as the nine-year vet has made six Pro Bowls and totaled 54.5 sacks. It might be tempting to think about a Packers line of McCoy, Kenny Clark , and Mike Daniels , but the former Buc will probably draw plenty of interest around the league from teams with more cap space than the Packers.
The NFL had a tiny signing spree in mid-May. Which moves will matter? - SBNation.com The moves coming after the compensatory pick deadline weren't massive in terms of star power, and there are still a few big names without homes, but these signings could have a significant impact in 2019.

Jordan Harold: Ex-Missouri DL says he'll pass rush for hot wings | SI.com Harold apparently did something similar to get a walk-on spot at Missouri, where he worked his way up to becoming a starter and going on scholarship. Good luck to him!

dfosterf (18-Aug) : We do have good depth at running back imo. Still so frustrating. Bitching about it is a futile excercise, which I plan to do anyway.

dfosterf (13-Aug) : a lower back injury
dfosterf (13-Aug) : Doubs says he's "fine" after injury scare. Some reported it as z
Mucky Tundra (13-Aug) : With LVN that is; need to see what happens in the next practice
Mucky Tundra (13-Aug) : beast, reading about what happened, it sounded like one of those "two guys collide and are moving slow afterwards" type of deals
beast (12-Aug) : I believe Musgrave has been injured every single season since at least a Sophomore in highschool
packerfanoutwest (12-Aug) : Matt LaFleur: “Highly unlikely” Jordan Love plays more this preseason
dfosterf (12-Aug) : Doubs, Savion Williams, LVN, Musgrave all banged up to one degree or another, missing one here I forget

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
