Ka'dar Hollman | Cornerback | Toledo | 6'0" - 196 lbs.

Overview
Former walk-on who continues to allow the chip on his shoulder to fuel his tenacious play at cornerback. Hollman hits the height, weight and speed markers and has the athleticism to stay near routes on all three levels as a press corner, but his instincts and ball production are somewhat underwhelming relative to the traits and his age could hurt his draft slotting. Hollman's tenacity and traits make him a worthy Day 3 selection with the ability to work his way up from CB4 into playing time.

Strengths
• Combines good size with great speed
• Destroyed his pro day with 4.39-second 40-yard dash, 38-inch vertical and 6.81 3-cone
• Highly competitive demeanor from press
• Has lateral foot agility to mirror and stall route timing
• Recovery speed allows him to wait out receiver's release fakes
• Aggressive crowding outside release against boundary
• Face guards to congest top of the route
• Allowed just 40 percent completion rate in 2018
• Will range and overlap into deep center from Cover-3
• Dips and slips around perimeter blocks in run support
• Fearless tackler who sees what he hits
• Weaknesses
• Will be a 25-year old rookie
• Has tendency to play man over ball on 50-50s
• Arms are below desired length
• Needs better eye-balance between route and quarterback
• Doesn't play with optimal route recognition
• Can be baited out of position by combo routes
• More reactive than anticipatory in his coverage
• Needs to trust technique downfield to avoid flags in NFL
• Inconsistent positioning tracking deep receivers
"From the standpoint of traits and upside, he's got it. He's tough and fast, he just needs to work on his fundamentals, but he's going to be a starter in the league." -- Defensive backs coach for NFC team

Pre-Draft Analysis
Hollman has average size, below-average length and outstanding top-end speed. He has the upper body strength, speed and toughness to develop into an effective press corner, and is willing in run support. He had just two career interceptions.

The Green Bay Packers have selected former Toledo cornerback Ka'Dar Hollman with the 185th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Hollman had a big season for Toledo in 2018, recording 42 tackles, one interception and 12 pass breakups which tied for the conference lead. In 2017, Hollman posted 35 tackles and seven pass breakups in 14 games.

Here's a look at what Draft Analyst has to say about Hollman:

"Athletic cornerback prospect with terrific next-level measurables. Stays with assignments, mixes it up with opponents and has an aggressive style. Keeps the action in front of him, plays heads-up football and competes to defend the throw. Gets his head back around to locate the pass. Quick up the field to defend running plays and screen passes. Effectively makes the calls in the secondary."

Dude has some wheels.

Hollman ensured he’d be drafted by running a 4.36-second 40-yard dash, hitting 39.5″ in the vertical and finishing the three-cone drill in 6.81 seconds at his pro day in March

Look up the story on this kid.

I like it that he's fast and he can tackle.

Some of the negatives can be dealt with by coaching.

He has the chance to develop into a solid contributor. What more can we ask from a 6th round pick?

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
