It sort of makes sense that Joe was let go. He's been in GB for 11 years. He was given the confusing and somewhat bogus title "passing game coordinator" last year. Once they stripped that title away anything less than being named DC would be a demotion. Clearly he didn't deserve to be demoted. Since he never really advanced much in 11 years it's best for Joe to get a fresh start someplace else. With 3 very young and somewhat promising CBs in the stable I hope they bring in someone of similar ilk to nurture them along. Whoever it is will have big shoes to fill.

That ridiculous[ness] seems to be the future of football and I think the main people it confuses is the fans. As it's probably fairly simple who to listen to if your in building.

I hope so, but when I also read this

And there was one article with Whitt where he talked about not going to teach them anything unless Pettine approves it, because it's his defense, and Pettine reaction to some item, was of course, you don't have to ask, of course you teach that... just seemed a bit awkward

it gives me pause.

Though that was the only time I heard of Whitt being like that, not like Moss who was a butthead the entire season.

Plus there are very few DC jobs and in recent decade it seems the offense are taking a huge majority of the head coach and jobs leaving even less space for defensive coaches to go upward. There are so many DC to jobs.... I believe Mike McCarthy said Whitt was first runner up to Pettine.

Yes we had a tremendous coaching staff. Great head coach with excellent assistants, assistant head coaches, passing game coordinators, great offensive line coach.etc., none if whom we can afford to lose.

We had tremendous front office lead by Ted Thompson and a staff of geniuses who we couldn’t afford to lose, providing is unbelievable talent.

AND WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY SUCKED THE LAST TWO YEARS!!!

Please, lets take off the rose colored glasses.

Funny how their are 8 teams left in the playoffs.
7 of the 8 head coaches are over 50 years old.
So much for the young hotshot guys every team has been clamoring for.

I remember reading where The Packers started 16 different db's in 2018.
16
Let that sink in.
The Packers starting D-line all ended the season on IR.
Aaron Rodgers after missing 11 games in 2017(going 4-1 btw before being injured)(but the team really sucked) , plays all 16 games in 2018 injured.
Becomes complacent and decides week 12 that he is going to quit on his HC.
A HC who should have been let go before the 2018 season as part of a complete overhaul, but we all know who fucked that up.(Mark)

LeFlure will put his coaching staff together.
Gutekunst will supply him the players.

If and this is a big if, Mark Murphy stays the hell out of their way.
I have all the confidence in the world that these guys will get The Packers back to winning.

Every GM wants to put HIS team together.
Every HC wants to hire HIS staff.

This doesn't mean the guys that leave SUCKED FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS.

What it means is they are not part of the future plans of the new GM and HC.

I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

Reading these threads, you would think that other than Ron Zook and Dom Capers, every other coach we had was Head Coaching Material, and Every Front Office guy was the next GM.. That our players are highly sought after by numerous other teams....its laughable.

beast (8-Jan) : I missed it, sorry, but he got into the NFL Hall of Fame years before that
Zero2Cool (8-Jan) : Jones took his sweet ole time!
Zero2Cool (8-Jan) : Yeah, he's in the ring of honor, just saw video and his name is up there
Zero2Cool (8-Jan) : Didn't they have a thing in 2023 for Jimmy's ring of honor? I swear I saw it
beast (8-Jan) : Though if they're legitimately trying to re-sign MM, then it makes sense.
beast (8-Jan) : Jerry Jones still hasn't put Jimmy Johnson in the Ring of Honor, but he's in the NFL's Hall of Fame, Jones is petty
Mucky Tundra (8-Jan) : Unless the Cowboys are planning an extension, seems kinda petty
beast (8-Jan) : Cowboys denied Bears request
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : From what I'm reading, MM is under contract through the 14th of January; after that he's free game

Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Chicago Bears have asked the Dallas Cowboys permission to interview Mike McCarthy for head coaching vacancy

Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : That might be it for the Vikings
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Oh so the refs do know what intentional grounding is
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : what the hell was that Goff?! Not much pressure and he just air mails it to Harrison
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : They really need to to get rid of the auto first down for illegal contact
Martha Careful (6-Jan) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : Even when GB got pressure he was throwing darts; vs no pressure on that last pass he just air mails an open guy
