Overall, I really don't see the difference or need to worry. In '07 they swept us and in '08 in was 1-1. I don't see any need to sound an alarm. This should only add to the rivalry. Each team has a shot in this division... Well except the Lions...

Well.....what can ya do?
We have no control over it, it's done, so you play the cards you are dealt.
I still think we will beat da Bears.

Go Bears. Now the Bears and Packers have the #1 and #2 quarterbacks in the NFL. The Vikes are now officially the 3rd team in the NFC North. Don't bring that O-Line and WR B.S. We just signed Orlando pace and Chris Williams will be a great Right tackle for us. And don't forget that we have the best tight end and runningback in the division in Olsen and Forte. And we will definitely draft a WR in the second round. So watch out Pack. The Bears are coming up fast and in a freaking hurry.

Easy up there pumpkin. Forte is not the best RB in the division. Adrian Peterson holds that without any intelligent argument once so ever. :)

Yeah Z those nine fumbles he had last year rocked.

Cutler instantly upgrades that offense quite a few notches because, like our quarterback, he can make every throw throw on the field. And in a windy stadium like Chicago, that strong arm is huge. Defenses will no longer be squatting on Chicago's passing routes.

Pace is great? Wasn't he hurt alot the last two years? And if he was so great, why did the lowly Rams cut him?

What i don't understand is people saying that the bears still aren't that good. If i remember correctly they had a better record than us last year so there team can't suck that bad.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

As if saying having a better record than us is saying a whole lot, lol.

I think the Bears did get better and they are more of a threat today than they were a week ago. Signing Pace and Cutler's trade helps them out. Hopefully they don't land Harrison or Holt too.

"dhazer" wrote:

I dont know if you were serious or not but i was thinking about them getting Harrison for a year or 2 just to have a vet wr on the team. I forgot about Holt the 2 of them i still think have 2 years left and are proven great route runners.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

holt might go to tenn or the jags

if those 2 are so great why are they still unsigned? and why were they just released and not traded :thumbright:

Cutler improves the team a bunch but still remains to be seen on their WR and if the aging D has something left

I'm a bit harsh on Tavaris Jackson, and I reckon Sage Rosenfels helps the Vikes, but at least for off-season speculation purposes (because that's all it is) I am just glad that he went to the Bears and not the Vikings. ON PAPER, he looked to be the missing link for the Vikes. Of course, ON PAPER, our missing link last year was going to be the loss of Brett Favre.

Usually you can wipe your nether regions with that paper when the actual season "rolls around", but I'm seeing some sacks in this young man's immediate future that perhaps he wasn't planning on when he started whining out Denver-way.
Let's see if he's as fantastic as some of the hand-wringers amongst us seem to think he is when he has a dismantled line protecting him, converted kick-off returners to throw to, and a fanbase with the patience of a velociraptor when it comes to quarterbacks.

I don't like the kid on a personal level, so I guess I'm just blowin' steam...we will see...still glad he isn't wearing purple...

Holy crap. I'm glad that he doesn't have anyone to throw to just yet, Or at least, no WRs... and their O-line isn't that great either. Evasive-wise, Cutler is nowhere near Rodgers and will be on his back the entire time.... I guess it's always better than Cutler to the Vikings.

"Rockmolder" wrote:

Are you serious? He's easily as mobile as Aaron Rodgers and throws much better on the run. The Bears getting this guy is a scary thing for rival NFC North teams and fans. The NFC North now has two good QBs, when was the last time that happened?

Hopefully he meant RB / Tight end combo. Still pushing it, although the Bears do have a couple damn good tight ends. I still wish we would have gotten Olsen.

The Bears aren't a dominate team yet, but they definitely have a foundation to build around now. They could still sign another free agent or two and maybe even a trade and make themselves even better. I don't think Cutler is great, but he definitely isn't bad and the Bears will be in the running every year as long as he is healthy to win the NFC North.

"BoocheeMan" wrote:

Sorry LOL, I just made myself look as stupid as a Lions fans. Forte is the SECOND BEST rb in the division

Actually Forte is the best complete RB in the division(receiving, running, blocking) AP is the best pure runner.

I don't find him that evasive though, but he does do well on designed roll-outs... which is pretty much a must when you play for the Broncos. He can throw on the run, but that doesn't mean he'll make people miss easily. At least, I didn't see that alot.

I agree that this is quite scary, though. I mean, if they'd just sign a guy like Torry Holt, they might be contenders right away. Olsen's receiving ability, Forte who needs alot of coverage, also since he's a great receiver. Torry Holt who can stretch the field, like Hester, but can run pretty much every route.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
    Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
