Cutler going to Bears

The Chicago Bears pulled the big upset Thursday afternoon by acquiring Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler, a source told ESPN.com.

The Broncos confirmed the move.

Terms of the trade weren't immediately available, but the Bears had to beat out the Redskins, Buccaneers, Lions, Titans and other teams to get land the 25-year-old Pro Bowl quarterback.

The Broncos had been asking for at least two first-round choices.

Cutler asked to be traded when he found out first-year coach Josh McDaniels tried to acquire Matt Cassel in a trade with the Patriots.

Cutler had not returned phone calls from the Broncos, according to the team, and had been staying away from the offseason program.

I wish today was still April fools.

I am totally eating my words from my facebook status right now.

"Sean Yerkes thinks Bears fans are hilarious. What can the Bears possibly fork over for Jay Cutler? Get real...you have nothing!"

DAMN YOU ARE FAST!

Let's hit up the NFC North Espn Blog while we are at it! I am actually very excited about this. I want the NFC North to be as competitive as possible.

Oh boy. The NFC North got a lot more interesting a few minutes ago.

Chicago pulled off the move of the offseason, acquiring quarterback Jay Cutler from Denver in exchange for quarterback Kyle Orton and first-round draft picks in 2009 and 2010. (The Bears will get a third-rounder from the Broncos this year.) The move gives the quarterback-starved organization its first "franchise-quarterback" in, well, a long time. (Send your nominations here.)

Needless to say, there are all sorts of angles we'll be hitting before the night is through. But let's just say that the Bears -- who at 9-7 finished one game behind Minnesota last season -- have shaken up the Black and Blue division.

Much more to come, including Cutler's childhood history as a Bears fan and his pending reunion with former Vanderbilt teammates Earl Bennett and Chris Williams. Yes, the band has gotten back together.

My Bad...

Did not see it in the NFL News section.

Although I think this IS PACKER NEWS. Has a huge effect on the NFC North, and a team they play twice next year.

The Bears sold their soul to obtain Cutler.. 2 first's, a third and Orton.. lol..

Bears might finally have a QB, but they can't stock much else in top shelf talent.. lol.
