At this point in the 2018 season, with the playoffs out of the picture, Sit Rodgers and some others as well. TANK the remainder of the season to get higher draft picks in the 2019 NFL Draft. Wins at this point serve only to work against the Packers. In addition, reducing the risk of injury to 1st team players could serve to benefit next seasons campaign.

Also, giving 2nd and 3rd tier players regular season experience can give the Packers better depth moving forward.

Sit Him , I say Hell Yes !

If the player is at no further risk, they play. It's sickening to read fans wanting healthy players to sit. That is horrible, absolutely horrible leadership. If Aaron Rodgers is healthy, he plays. If he has a bum wheel, bum shoulder, THEN you sit his ass down.

Able bodies play. This is a TEAM game and they are paid for 16 games a season.

Let's not forget the words of Vince Lombardi.

Ok, so Rodgers plays against the Jets on Sunday. With no possibility of the Packers getting into the playoffs or the Packers fighting for a higher seed and a bye in the playoffs. When a win could mean a lesser place to pick from in the 2019 NFL Draft and your risking your best asset for a return that that is not worth the risk. So during that game, being the competitor that he is, Rodgers gets badly injured, will you say that it was worth the risk?

Save your best assets for next season when they compete for something. Playing the best assets in two meaningless games is like killing yourself working for someone digging a ditch and getting paid 15 cents an hour, it's just not worth it.

Which is better for the team? Winning a couple games to build momentum for next season or playing the young guys and getting better draft position?

Personally I think it's better to play the young guys and attain better draft position. The difference between drafting 8th vs drafting 15th has some real tangible value. Seeing which young players can contribute and which need replacing has value.

The obvious question is why should The Packers risk an injury to him.

It seems anyone with an injury that will take a couple of weeks or more to heal is being put on ir.

Why risk further injury?

There is going to be a whole new system to learn next year.

Any familiarity these young receivers get by playing with Aaron these next 2 weeks isn't going to matter next year as they all will have to learn the new system.

Aaron and Davante want to light it up the next 2 weeks, that's fine with me, just hope nobody gets injured.

If I can re-frame the argument...it is NOT a meaningless game. NFL live reps are extremely valuable in evaluating talent. Therefore, I want to see:
- If Kizer, after a full season in a system, can execute. I honestly don't know if he could be a star, a starter or an adequate back-up. I would like to know....and these live reps are valuable
- In turn, I would like to know whether Philbin can coach him up.
- I want to see whether there is a chemistry problem with our wide-outs and Kizer, or is it just 12.
- I want to see more of Spriggs at RT. He was comparable to Bulaga against Mack in game 1. So even if Bulaga can go, I want to see Spriggs.

Its not just about sitting 12. Winning the last two games is nice but I want what is best for the Packers future.

I fully respect the position of those of you who want the field the best team to win NOW and get momentum. But there is another valid point of view.

Since we are out of the playoffs, many of us want to field the team that will enable the front office to make decisions evaluate the roster so that more intelligent moves can be made in the off-season.

Get Davante to 1600. Give kumerow a chance to be Cobb. Lose both games.

TheKanataThrilla (22m) : Exactly buck...Washington came up with the ball. It is just a shitty coincidence one week later
buckeyepackfan (23m) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (24m) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.
buckeyepackfan (30m) : Turnovers rule, win the turnover battle, win the game.
packerfanoutwest (31m) : well, he was
TheKanataThrilla (36m) : Eagles down by contact on the fumble....fuck you NFL
Mucky Tundra (58m) : I think this games over
beast (1h) : Eagles sure get a lot of fumbles on kickoffs
Mucky Tundra (1h) : This game looks too big for Washington
packerfanoutwest (5h) : that being said, The Ravens are the Browns
packerfanoutwest (5h) : Browns, Dolphins have longest AFC Championship droughts
packerfanoutwest (5h) : As of today, Cowboys have longest NFC Championship drought,
beast (15h) : Someone pointed out, with Raiders hiring Carroll, the division games between Carroll and Jim Harbaugh are back on (who can whine more games)
beast (21h) : I'm confused, Pete Carroll and Brian Schottenheimer? When Todd Monken, Joe Brady, Kellen Moore, Kliff Kingsbury and Zac Robinson are availab
Zero2Cool (23h) : Any reason I'm catching a shot here about my intelligence?
Martha Careful (25-Jan) : thank you Mucky for sticking up for me
Martha Careful (25-Jan) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not
Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!
beast (24-Jan) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
