Jaire played a helluva game today. Hopefully it gives the defensive coordinator more options to send extra blitzers knowing he has some cover guys out there.

Can't believe that quote came from the herd. He's absolutely right though. Dude played lights out today. Where was josh Jackson?

Outside of one play (I think it was a 35 yarder to Cook) Jaire didn't get beat on any other passing play all day. He should be the front runner for Defensive Rookie of the Year and a contender for Rookie of the Year as well (though he'll probably lose out to some WR simply from scoring TDs). Guy is an absolute stud and someone you can build a defense around.

This forum and fanbase are gloomy atm (and very rightfully so) BUT let's not get too down to not appreciate plays like this

Edit: Damn NFL blocked the youtube link 🤬

Blocking one opponent into another makes for a great highlight, but the disadvantage is that the ball carrier isn't down by contact when he hits the turf, so you risk giving up unnecessary yardage. But it sure does look cool.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it just that I don't think he will get much love. It is good when guys like Cowherd (even though I don' t like the guy) see it. Collinsworth seemed pretty high on him last night as well. I think most people who watch him realize he is the real deal but like I said he just doesn't have the stats in the right categories to garner the big awards.

I may be wrong but as cool as that play looked I seem to recall after he made the hit that knocked them both down he actually turned around instead of persuing. Maybe he thought the play was over but that will come with experience. In fact I'd guess if he did think it was over he won't make that mistake again. I haven't watched the play again so I may be misremembering but I though at the time that was a screw up.
