I'd have over paid a little for a guy who was proven in the 3 - 4 at a position we are weak at.

Ted Thompson is OKAY at drafting and he's great at keeping our own key guys. The problem is that most of our best players are in the prime or slightly past it.
We need to make a run soon or else risk losing a lot of players to age / declining skills (Harris, Driver, Clifton, Woodson, Kampman, Barnett, Pickett, etc.)
Ted Thompson loves the draft and I get it. It gives you a lot of players for a cheap price (besides 1st rounders). But if you fill some needs in FA (Olshansky) than thats one less pick you have to use on a 3-4 DE.
I still like the guy because he's made pretty good moves so far (signing Woodson instead of Lavarr Arrington, drafting Jennings, trading Corey Williams).
