It never ceases to amaze me just how selfish people can be. The post in this and other threads express their concern over how the Packers will suffer if Rodgers sits out 1 or 2 games. How without him at QB doom and disaster will befall the football team. How Green Bay would lose a few games if Kizer were allowed to substitute at QB for Rodgers.
No true Packer fan ever wants the team to lose any games, but sometimes the long term good of the team/player must override possible short term gains. I salute Rodgers grit to play against the Vikings, but it was not until after that game was over that it was revealed that his injury consisted of more than a knee sprain. He has slight muscle tearing that can only get better if he allows the area to heal without placing further stress upon the affected tissue. IMO, it is a pay me now or pay bigger later scenario with a season long impairment that would place the Packers at a disadvantage as GB either needs season ending wins to capture a playoff berth or enter the playoffs with a
still injured QB.
Biting the bullet is like punting, you sacrifice ball possession to hopefully mitigate the damage that could befall you. GB needs to rest Rodgers so that he will be the player this team
will need if this is to be that special SB season. Also it should not go unsaid that we are discussing Rodgers' injury like he only matters as a football player when we need to also remember that he is a person that may be suffering in pain beyond what he will admit to. Let us not toss away empathy as greed threatens to overtake more rational thinking.
