If they were willing to put him back out there, when they were down 20-0, and Rodgers was getting creamed, why wouldn’t they put him out there fully prepared with his injury and the score 0-0?
Doesn’t make much sense to me.

Which makes me think his injury isn't all that bad, but maybe they did more tests and found something to be worried about after the Bears game. Who knows. In any case the Packers have professionals (actual doctors with degrees and everything) to consult with, so I would think it's safe to say they have a pretty good idea of the severity, and are in a good position to weigh that risk.

A few years ago I experienced a similar injury to that which A.Rodgers had. In fact it was the left knee as well that I fell and injured. At first I stood right back up with the normal pain one would experience like if they banged their knee against a table or chair. I continued about my business, even climbing a set of stairs. However after a while the knee began to throb and swell. It got so bad that the knee swelled to twice the normal size and I got help to an Emergency room.

It was still early on a weekday, so the Emergency Room Dr. sent me directly to an Orthopedic Specialist. They x-rayed and drained the fluid away with a huge syringe. In my case I had a hairline crack across my kneecap. I was fitted with a knee brace, provided with crutches, and had to return the next day to again have the fluid drained away.

The point is that my kneecap injury, being the primary injury, was not the hardest part of my recovery. The hardest part was dealing with how my body was healing itself. Yes I was indeed injured, but what my body was doing in and around that injury was what most severely limited my activity level for weeks.

No one has reported that Rodgers has broken anything, yet a sprain or deep muscle bruise would react the same way that my knee did. I have also seen this same thing with others that have had knee injuries. Rodgers "sprain" may not be that serious, but I'd bet that his knee is very stiff and his mobility is limited. I would not think that any amount of therapy will have any effect upon how Rodgers body is healing itself. I don't expect him to play against the Vikings and he may not even return until the Buffalo game.

a tad off topic, but can you imagine if you or anyone else, knew if he was or wasn't going to play, the kind of money you could make in Vegas?

I don’t think anyone has seen Rodgers hobbling around at Lambeau. He hasn’t practiced, but no reports of crutches or anything.
When I got hit by a car, I got a deep bone bruise. It’s been 5 years, and my knee has never been the same. If I twist a little on it, it gives out on me.
Of course I’m not a multi millionaire QB with doctors surrounding me to fix it.
I think he will play tomorrow, and the game plan will be like last weeks 2nd half.

There is something that I think most fans are missing. After reading posts here and on other sites it seems that most fans equate Rodgers starting the game with playing 100% of the offensive snaps. That is not necessarily the case.

Even if Aaron is only at 40% of his ability (I think he is probably closer to 65-70%) he IS going to start. His leadership, track record and determination won't allow for anything less than at least giving it a try. It doesn't matter if it's Minneysoda or the 2017 Brownies. Aaron is a winner and he will try to play no matter what. Well the one exception would be in week 16-17 if GB already had home field advantage locked up.

He will only come out of the game if he proves to be highly ineffective because of his knee, the defense proves to be oppressive or if he is injured even more.

Over the years there have been 100s and 1000s of examples of players coming out and giving it a try. GB fans only have to look back to Brett and his hideously bad thumb. Some like me would say he wanted the streak more than the GB win. To some degree it might be true but in reality Brett was sure he was the best chance for a GB win even with his injured thumb.

Aaron will start. The real question is will he be able to come back out for the 2nd half. It's no longer about money. He has his big payday. He has nothing left to prove other than to himself and he is highly motivativated to push himself further than anyone else can push him.

McCarthy/Rodgers may just be so desperate to get a win that they will risk a less than fully mobile Rodgers health and the entire Packer's future and play the superstar vs the Vikings. Yet remember that you heard this from me, if Rodgers starts getting hit and going down because he can't move quick enough to avoid being in danger of getting a severe injury, he will get pulled faster than than a NY pickpocket could steal your wallet.

packerfanoutwest (4h) : Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst says Green Bay’s roster can win, even without adding anyone in the draft.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
