There were times I was willing to deal Randall Cobb for a defensive play maker. Cobb had a few really nice plays that I don't remember seeing out of him before.

What did you think of Cobb's week one performance?

When the QB throws to him, special things happen. Just have to get the damn ball out. Plus, he provided a spark in our return game. Glad he's on our team.

I have had a pessimistic optimism for Cobb for several years. In other words I hope he does well but something always seems to happen to let me down. After they let Jordy go I didn't want GB to trade Cobb. I didn't see enough from the rest of the WR corps to think someone else could step into the WR2 slot.

When plays break down, Cobb seems to just know what to do. He and Rodgers are always on the same page when a play breaks down. That chemistry takes time to develope, and had we lost Cobb I think it would have hurt more then we think.

I would have also been willing to deal Cobb in the off season.
In retrospect I'm glad we didn't.
He seemed more high energy last night than he has been over the last few years.
I just hope his high energy lasts and he stays healthy.
Last night showed he can still git er done.

He was high energy because he was finally given opportunities to contribute. That's all it takes.

Darkane is right. In the past, with Jordy out there, Cobb wasn't called on very much. Last night he was, and showed what he can do.

2014
Cobb 91 rec 1,287 yards 12 TD's from 127 targets
Nelson 98 rec 1,519 yards 13 TD's from 151 targets

Targets
2015 he had most targets on the team, 30 more targets than James Jones.

2016 he was 3rd with 84 and he missed several games

2017 he was 2nd on the team with 92. Adams had 117

Ever since they decided to not resign Nelson I was opposed to dealing Cobb. We needed some experience familiar with the team on the roster besides Adams.

The thing with Cobb is people look at his numbers from the last couple of seasons and say he is not worth 10 million for that production. they say we can get those numbers from just about anyone at a much cheaper price and to an extent they are right. What they fail to realize is that we are not paying Cobb for those numbers, we are paying him for potentially a lot more. And I am not talking about potential that many young WRs have I'm talking about having already done it and could easily do it again.

We are also paying him for what he did last night. We could have brought in a cheaper guy and hoped he would step up like Cobb did last night but we kept Cobb knowing he had the ability to step up. I prefer knowing to hoping.

Last night just confirmed my belief that Cobb will have a huge year

Zero2Cool (28-May) : LaFleur on Watson: “Christian is doing outstanding. I would say he’s ahead of schedule.”
Martha Careful (28-May) : Bradshaw is a dumb ass cracker. I am so tired of his "aw shucks" diatribe. He should shrivel up and go away.
