Honestly I couldn't give two shits about any "lull" both sides of the ball had some struggles and actually adjusted to what was going on and dominated. That's what's been missing mostly especially on defense the last few years.

We didn't just get a big stop on defense to win the game we did it twice because Clay Matthews made one of the dumbest plays I've ever seen.

I don’t think the 1st half was a lull. They’re not going to be sharp without playing preseason; but the Bears didn’t play their starters in PS much more then GB.

SSchind hit the nail on the head, it was the injury. I dont think adjustments account for Rodgers' play or the D's. And the run/pass quantity is not scripted; just about every run play has a check to pass and vice-versa and Rodgers can always audible. Remember McCarthy cant see the D alignment when he calls a play! It Rodgers' job to check or audible out of a bad run.

The 1st half is GB when Rodgers REFUSES to execute the gameplan. He’s passing up early reads for 2-3-5-7 yards and running around like a dick, exposing himself to injury and Oops, that’s just what happened. It wasn’t the play calling; the Bears defense; the OL; McCarthy; the receivers getting separation, blah, blah blah…it was 100% Rodgers playing like a crashing Danica Dick Doll. Kizer comes in, he’s 3 for 3 and moves right down the field and he probably didn’t take a single rep this week.

GB’s O doing their 5 and out, 3 and out, 3 and out, 3 and out totaling under 20 yards bull crap keeps the GB D on the field, demoralizes the D, limits the D’s playbook and opens up the Bears O. Of course the D looks bad, when the O is so dysfunctional.

But then, Rodgers with his wrecked knee is forced to EXECUTE THE OFFENSE and it should be no surprise that the D was in a position to play better and did.

He did this a few years ago after sucking for half a season, hurt his ankle and played GOAT-like; and our D "mysteriously" played better. D's play better when the O is not 3 and outting. Last year he played great with multiple guys on OL that didn’t start the season on GB’s roster; because he had to execute the offense or he’d die. The very first game he had his starting 5 was Minnesota; he runs around like a dick, looking to make ESPN highlights and gets his collar bone broken.

McCarty needs to find a way to reign-in Rodgers; or put Jeff Gillooly on the training staff so he can take a crow bar to Rodgers’ knee when it begins to feel better.

I’m glad I wasn’t at the game. Had I been there, when “feet of” Clay Matthews made that BONE HEAD late hit on Tru-biscuit, I would have jumped onto the field and kicked him between the legs.
He better pay Nick Perry for bailing him out with his 4th down strip.
You would think by now he would be smart enough not to do something so STUPID.

The Bears aren't the same shitty Bears we've been dealing with for the last half decade. Trubisky seems to actually care, and their defense was well put together through the draft and free agency.

In the meantime the Packers just aren't as good as we like to make them out to be. Believe it or not, the other team is trying. Give McCarthy credit for maintaining composure. Two things would've caused the Packers to lose here -- Fuller getting that interception (which you can't pin on McCarthy) or Matthews roughing call.

It wasn't just Nerd. I'm not sure when you left but had you stuck around you would have seen a dozen people packing it in. I popped in three or four times in the second half and it was like... well you can imagine what it was like.

It's the first game of the season. Am I the only one just excited to have real actual football back?

This was my Sunday, plus re-coding the NFL Picks LiveScores since the NFL decided to change their crap from XML to JSON.

Let's not get things twisted here. I'm not saying down 20 - 0 we should be sick green goggles people. Hell no, be salty, be pissed, be upset. But why flood the chat every 30 seconds with the same negative stuff over and over and over?

Maybe my excitement of "OMG football is back!" forced unrealistic expectations on fellow fans. Maybe that's true, and if so, I apologize nerdmann. I just think you have a lot more worth-reading comments than the negative stuff I had seen filling up the chat.

Had I been in the chat, you would have seen that I wasn’t very happy with the play on both sides of the ball in the first half. I was even considering turning off the TV. But I just couldn’t give up.
I would have been mad at myself had I missed that crazy win!
By the way....I don’t have a computer at home, only my wife’s phone.
How do I get into the chat? I don’t see anything on the screen where it says “enter chat”.

This negativity nerds to stop. Such a downer.

GO back and look at the chat transcript. Nerd was the VOICE OF REASON when we got down by 20. Everyone was talking shit. Nerd knws that this team FREQUENTLY gets in this position. And 9 times out of ten they COME BACK FROM IT.

You’re welcome.
