Until someone can point me to an article that does more than speculate about what Mack wants or deserves he should be afforded the same benefit of the doubt that Aaron Rodgers gets.

Mack very well might break the $20 million per year for edge rushers
Rodgers very well might break the $30 million per year for quarterbacks

Sschind, I suppose you are right that all of those articles lack the "straight from the horses mouth" words. However, you can say that about basically every article on the topic no matter who the player or salary is. Players and agents aren't dumb enough to be the "source" of those numbers, but it becomes public some how. In recent history the only one I can think of doing that is Le'Veon bell. News like this is all about "leaks" and "sources close to".

“Leaks” close to me say that gbguy20 May just have hit the nail on the head with his post.
At least that’s what “sources close to me “ have said.😂

If I need to explain further why that's garbage, then I just don't know what else I can say.

Just seen too many times where an inference or headline was transposed into something it wasn't. And if the subject person doesn't care to clear the air, idiot people assume it's true.

People shouldn't be so careless and thoughtless.

Some times you are impossible to talk to, Kevin. I cited that article because it is essentially the title of this thread and it is fantastic article. It also mentions he's looking for 22 mill per year. His asking price has been written about all summer, in almost every article written about him and his holdout. If you can't find that, that's on you. It's way too hard for me to do the work for you on this garbage windows phone.

I still think he'd take a shorter deal with a contender than the Raiders. But, Mack said something about wanting to be a Raider for life.

He might as well have said “I want to be a loser for life” if he wants to stay on the Raiders!😂

It’s true that people make things up in their own minds if they don’t know the facts. “He hasn’t reported to the Raiders, so it HAS to be that he wants to be the highest paid defensive player” which it might be true, but there might be a whole bunch of underlieing reasons that no one but Mack and his agent know.

I still think we should discuss the article I posted. It presents several of our options as far as trade bait and explains the both the financial implications and reasoning behind each move. It is very detailed and thorough. It does this all under the *reported assumed asking price/demand* of Mack's. Heck of a baseline to build a discussion around, at least if we want to get back to the point of the thread anyway. I'd chop it all up into nicely formed for the sake of this post, but you know....windows phone.

If they want him here there are ways to get it done. I don't think "can they do it " was ever an issue. The issue is should they do it and that is certainly debatable given the total cost involved with what it would cost to trade for him and what it would cost to sign him long term.
