2. Matt Hasselbeck in Overtime
Matthew Hasselbeck. Those have to be five seconds you wish you could have back. If you could hop in a DeLorean and repeat that infamous overtime coin toss in the 2003 NFC Divisional playoff, you'd keep your mouth shut.
After an improbable run into the divisional round of the playoffs against his former team, the Green Bay Packers, Matt Hasselbeck played a great second half to force overtime.
Full of adrenaline and energy, the Seattle Seahawks' captains stepped on the field for the overtime coin toss.
After the Seahawks won possession, QB Matt Hasselbeck said into the FOX sports microphone "We want the ball, and we're gonna win."
Everyone was caught off guard and couldn't believe his arrogance. Now he'd put a target squarely on his back, bigger than the one on a department store.
After a couple of nice plays on their drive, Hasselbeck took a five-step drop, looked, and threw a pass to his left.
I can still hear the call now.
"INTERCEPTED by Al Harris! He has room! He could score! Nobody will catch him, and the Packers win!"
Wow. Talk about a choke job. Not only did his guarantee fail, but he threw the pick-six that lost the game. Could you feel any dumber?
