How can you look at stats on a pass oriented team with a prolific QB when that guy is lost and the next guy can't play? Of course it affects the running game just like in certain ways it affects the defense It certainly affected how opposing defenses played us, right? Could they not just stack against the run in no fear of Hundley? I mean c'mon. The guy handed the ball off on 1st and 2nd down on most drives and threw the ball 5 yards or less 90% of the time he did let one go.
Teams are going to game plan against Rodgers differently. They have to or he's going to bury them. The Packer run game needs to be good enough to make defenses adjust their plan to respect our ability to run the football. That is more than a subtle shift in philosophy teams came in with last year and one that the RB's can run with (pun intended).
Quite honestly with Hundley being such a non threat I'm surprised the RB's did as well as they did. Williams just basically plowed his way to his yards and I give him kudos for that.

Hell, I don't know what you all remember from last year but for me the RB's were most often the only thing I got any encouragement from at all.

I'm not saying they are terrible. They and the OL are an unknown. That's why I am not going to be upset that an article rates them so low at this time of the year.

Also while Monty and Jones can make some things happen when they're given space, the Packers OL didn't exactly shown a great ability to create space last year... though part of that problem with the injuries at OTs... but rumor has it, Bulaga might start the season on the PUP list... so that problem hasn't resolved it's self yet... unless Murphy, Spriggs or the new Bell can step up and play well at the position.

Though having TE Marcedes Lewis might help a ton. I'm really wondering if we might see a lot of two TE sets... which Lewis playing traditional TE and Graham playing a WR/TE tweener.

But all #24 says is that the Packers don't have a two year proven RB or OL at this time... and they simply don't.

If the vikings or Bears had the same RBs as we do some Packer fans would be saying they have no proven RBs and a converted WR and the rating is probably too high. When it about our players those same fans get all upset and play the "no respect" card.
