Every year.
You set the bar so high for rookies.
Every year you are disappointed.
Odds are only one of the rookies will make the final 53.
Hopefully he will excel on ST's.

The other 2 will be put on the PS to get ready.

These guys will hopefully wow everyone during preseason.

Tell me when is the last time a rookie Packer WR actually made a difference on offense?

Greg Jennings?

Reality bites but it is what it is.

Remember, Aaron Jones will be suspended, so that’s an extra roster spot for weeks 1 and 2.

I get it, Matthews has become an average OLB but he's the best average pass rusher we have.

Well you got the rookies, probably two of them will be kept on the roster. You got Monty, who can also motion to the slot, but he takes up an RB spot.

What you need is, guys who have at least a year of experience. People who know the system, have experience at the pro level. Someone who can contribute 600 yards for less than $10 million per season.

So let's say you got Davante and two rookies. That's three positions. You got two, maybe three more spots. So let's see, Yancey, Trevor Davis, Gmo, Michael Clark. Who am I forgetting?

Defense
Perry is a better overall player at this point. More consistant pass rush and MUCH better setting an edge. CM3 only has more positional flexibility. He is very very expensive. If a top notch, but less expensive guy got cut...they might make a change.

Offense
Why can other teams bring in rookies who start and we can’t? The question is more than rhetorical. Our offense can’t be that difficult, and our top guys are not elite receivers.

As for Perry, this defense might benefit from having a tweener at his position. Pettine isn't big on those edge rusher types anyway. Dude needs to work his nutrition, do some bone broths, man. Keep those hand bones from snapping all the time.
