Grabbed him right before the Raiders drafted a P.

Dude could be a weapon. Great directional guy with a strong leg. NOBODY on this team is safe. You gotta earn your way, no matter what. Place kicker might have been the smarter business move, but it sounds like this guy was the one on the board.

Never would have guessed a punter being drafted at all. Any reason why they'd give up on Vogel so quickly?

Come cutdown time, Goot can trade one of these guys, fill a need. Let’s say we have a rash of pulled hammies this summer. (Hard to imagine, right?) We’ve got an extra P with some skills, make someone a deal for a depth player. BOOM.

Nobody is gonna trade for a punter.

The bottom line here is competition. It looks like he's a good holder too, which Crosby desperately needs.

My son was freaking out over this pick. He thinks Vogel is fine.

It's nice to have a roster that is more or less complete. With all those late round picks, most of them won't make the team. Why not invest a pick in a punter (or long snapper)? They have a better chance of contributing than the 8th WR.

    Good pick IMO.

Top punter in the draft. Didn't the Packers draft Crosby in the 5th? Would be nice to get similar production/longevity at the punter position.
