Inside this quote, the most interesting part to me is the need, don't need. We have Aaron Rodgers, we don't need no damn WR! We could field Alan out there and he'd get 100 catches and 12 TD's! He's sneaky fast!

14. GREEN BAY PACKERS (7-9)

LAST SEASON: Missed playoffs for first time since 2008 after quarterback Aaron Rodgers missed two months with broken collarbone. His absence exposed how much team's limitations could be covered up by two-time NFL MVP. Davante Adams eclipsed Jordy Nelson as team's top receiver, but signing of tight end Martellus Bennett turned bad and he was cut at midseason. Injuries ravaged cornerback position for second straight year, while LB Clay Matthews and edge rush couldn't generate consistent pressure. Second-year players Kenny Clark and Dean Lowry joined Mike Daniels as bright spots on defensive line, and Blake Martinez turned into tackling machine at inside linebacker. But subpar season overall led coach Mike McCarthy to overhaul staff.

THEY NEED: OLB, CB, WR, S, RG, RT, TE

THEY DON'T NEED: QB, LT, DL, RB

POSSIBLE FIRST PICK:
• DE Marcus Davenport, UTSA;
• DE-LB Harold Landry, Boston College;
• CB Denzel Ward, Ohio State;
• CB Mike Hughes, UCF;
• CB Josh Jackson, Iowa;
• S Minkah Fitpatrick, Alabama;
• S Derwin James, Florida State.
• OUTLOOK: Longtime personnel executive Brian Gutekunst enters first draft as general manager. Packers don't often pick this high in first round, so Gutekunst has opportunity to take immediate contributor on defense led by new coordinator Mike Pettine that needs more playmakers. Pass rush could use infusion with Matthews turning 31 this year. Safeties Fitzpatrick and James could provide versatility, especially following departures of Micah Hyde and Morgan Burnett in free agency over last two years.

We’re not desperate at any position. We have the minimum needed pretty much everywhere. But we can get better. Gives us alot of freedom, if someone drops to us. And I believe several will.

KEVIN!!!
Yes, I AM “sneaky fast” ( or as my wife would say, “sneaky, and halfast!”)
The Packers did give me a call, and asked if I could fill in in Jordy Nelson’s place. But I told them I’m too busy, and I have WAY too much money.
(Yeah.....THAT’S the ticket!!!)😂

I find this a bit ironic.

All things being equal why not list the 5 DB players ahead of the 2 DL that they don't need? Or at least have the linemen in the middle of the list. After all, Landry is rated as a 2nd round pick by many.

Rodgers sure turned these guys into 100 catch 12 TD guys.

Even if you take off Allison , Davis and Clark thinking they still might develop I'd bet anything that if we don't get anyone to help at least 2 of the 3 will remain on this list. Even if you take off Montogomery because he is contributing at RB he still wasn't made into such an indispensable receiver by Aaron Rodgers that Mike McCarthy couldn't make the switch.

Yes we have had some good ones Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones and Jordy Nelson but we only have 2 of those right now and 1 is questionable beyond this season.

WR may not be our biggest need but it is a need. Especially if you want to look beyond this season. How many times do we hear that WRs in GB don't amount to a hill of beans if Aaron Rodgers doesn't trust them because he won't throw to them. None of the good ones were later than a 3rd round pick. You don't get to be a third round pick or higher if you don't have some talent. Do you really think you can grab anyone (sorry Alan, I'm sure you would be an exception) and he will gain ARs trust. I don't think so.

Allison has to beat out Yancey, and I like Yancey better right now. We shall see.

Davante is one cheap shot to the skull away from retirement. And we all know that teams are taking their shots at him, with no consequences from Mike.

Zero2Cool (17m) : NFL thought it would get more attention week preceding Super Bowl.
Zero2Cool (17m) : Yes, the Pro Bowl. It was played Sunday before Super Bowl from 2010-2022
packerfanoutwest (17m) : pro bowl
Zero2Cool (21m) : From 2010 to 2022, it was played on the Sunday before the Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (22m) : They moved it to the BYE week before Super Bowl several years ago.
packerfanoutwest (28m) : it was always after the SB.....
beast (10h) : Though I stop following pro bowl years ago
beast (10h) : I thought the pro game was before the Super Bowl?
packerfanoutwest (10h) : ok now for the Pro Bowl Game in Hawaii
TheKanataThrilla (11h) : If I was Philly I would try to end it instead of punting it
Mucky Tundra (11h) : VICTORY! We have (moral) victory!
TheKanataThrilla (11h) : Hey they mentioned that we 3-peted
Mucky Tundra (12h) : seems to me the 49ers should have traded Aiyuk when they had the chance
Mucky Tundra (12h) : if the Eagles get it down to the 1, do they Tush Push or give it to Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : 49ers have a money problem if they want to sign their QB
Mucky Tundra (12h) : Wait for real? Didn't he just get an extension two years ago?
Zero2Cool (12h) : 49ers gonna trade Deebo. Interesting
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : Replays always never seem to show the holdings
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : Great throw by Hurts
Mucky Tundra (12h) : Where Carter falls prey to bad off the field influences (to be clear, not saying he'd clip someone though)
Mucky Tundra (12h) : Had Carter not gone to Philly were they already had a lot of old college friends, he ends up in a similar spot to Aaron Hernandez
Mucky Tundra (12h) : I think some of his coaches told scouts to stay away
Mucky Tundra (12h) : the street racing incident+conditioning and motivation problems
beast (12h) : Then Carter was street racing, where the other car crashed and people died... and other teams were scared to pick Carter for some reason
beast (12h) : I think the Saints traded up, giving their next year 1st to the Eagles, and then they sucked and Eagles got the 10th overall pick
packerfanoutwest (12h) : wtf Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : Getting Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round in 2023 was pretty darn good
Mucky Tundra (12h) : for some reason i'm thinking of a draft where the Eagles where in the mid 20s and a top player fell all the way to them
TheKanataThrilla (12h) : I think so. I would need to look it up. Think it may have been Carolina's pick.
Mucky Tundra (12h) : i'm not sure who i'm thinking of now
Mucky Tundra (12h) : oh fuck me i messed that up
Zero2Cool (12h) : Jordan Davis was 13th overall
Zero2Cool (12h) : Carter was 9th overall
Zero2Cool (12h) : Eagles had 15th and 10th selections, moved to 13 and 9 to get Davis and Carter back to back
Zero2Cool (13h) : Eagles traded up for Carter, didn't they?
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Obviously he was a huge risk but getting a top 5 talent on the dline in the mid 20s is fortuitous
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Jalen Carter falling into their lap certainly helps
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : And we could only wish to have this type of D
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : It's not like Philly has had low draft picks, but has managed to get themselves a top notch pass rush. We spend so much draft capital of D
packerfanoutwest (13h) : another crap halftime show
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : I think it is over, but then I think of Atlanta and want Philly to go in with the same intensity in the second half
Mucky Tundra (13h) : And with a Pass Rush that might as well be on a milk cartoon and no Jaire
Martha Careful (13h) : I cant help but feel good about how well the Packers D played in Philly during the playoffs
Mucky Tundra (13h) : this game is over
Mucky Tundra (13h) : This might be the kill shot here
Mucky Tundra (13h) : oh that's such a bad penalty for KC after getting the 3rd down stop
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : Philly DL has come to play
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : Ceoper DeJean with the INT scored...bad memories of draft night
Mucky Tundra (14h) : ok scratch that
Mucky Tundra (14h) : Game feels like last years Super Bowl: 49ers started off in control, moved the ball well but didn't have much of a lead to show for it
