Jason Wilde asked McCarthy about what he wants from the Packers defense:

I want the defensive mindset to be better than the offenses. I'm not talking about stats. I'm not talking about knocking the shit out of somebody in practice. I'm not talking about the bullshit.

I want them to come in here everyday and feel like they are leading the team to a championship. I want special teams to do the same thing. I know the offense works that way. so we need to do that as a football team. "

Damn....

How incredibly refreshing. I believe our offense was practicing against a pat-a-cake defense for most of the last 3 years, ergo the inability to get open against tight man to man...they never practiced that hard and/or the defense just wasn't very good.

I like this! I remember Ray Nitschke, who would knock the crap out of his own team mates in practice. He didn’t hold back at all. It made the offensive players tougher and they were more prepared for the REAL game.

I don't think it is a coincidence that our receiving corp was at its best when it had to face Al Harris and Charles Woodson in practice.

Everyone forgets our WRs had to go against Tramon Williams and Nick Collins the same time they had to go against al Harris and Woodson

really? Why wasn't McCrappy riled up last year or the year before that or 3 years ago, or.........Sounds like he was afraid of Capers to me. Already setting his excuses when he fails this upcoming season, so he doesn't get fired.

I would rather live in the present and the future than live in the past, although I think it’s good to learn from it.
Accordingly, I am extremely happy he is fired up, willing to point out mistakes that both he and the organization have made, and willing to changes.

It's about time... This should've happened a few years ago. Design plays to get players open. The past few years it's seemed like he just depended on the receivers to get open on their own. This is not the Super Bowl WR Corp of Nelson, Jennings, Jones, and Driver.

First, anyone who calls players, coaches, ect. silly names lose all credibility to me,
We are better than that here on packershome.
Want to use stupid names, go to FB and post with the rest of the clowns who don't know a damn thing and only post to complain.

Of course Mike is riled up.
He has sat back and watched while the new GM has put HIS stamp on the team by overpaying for a Hybrid TE/WR while kicking QB 1's favorite receiver to the curb saying he just wasn't worth the money.

Releasing Jordy wasn't a huge surprise, but offering him Vet. mimimum with no signing bonus or guaranteed money was just a slap in the face to Jordy.
Players notice how things are handled.

Mike has sat back and watched as the new GM let The Packers if not their best, their most knowledgable DB and their best Special teams player go without even an offer.
Players notice how things are handled.

I wonder if Mike is riled up because here it is , less then a month away from the draft, 2 months from OTA's and there has been no news on getting a deal done with Aaron Rodgers.

This new GM going to try and low-ball Aaron also?

The writing is on the wall, this is Mike's last year in Green Bay.

I would be riled up to.

Mike has nothing to worry about, he will be coaching The Browns come 2019.

I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!
