Two out of the last nine Super Bowl winners have had first-year starters at QB. And yet many people consider it to be a fact that the Packers cannot win the Super Bowl with a first year QB. How stupid can people get? I have no problem with people saying that the Packers' chances of winning it all are less with Rodgers than they would've been with Favre, even though I don't agree with that statement. But it gets silly when people make such extreme statements.
I realize that Madden wasn't saying that. He likes Favre because he's an announcer and Favre is an exciting and charismatic player. Madden knows which side his bread is buttered on.

So you think that the Packer's chances are just as strong this year with Rodgers than it would have been with Fav-re? That is just as silly and extreme as people saying that the Packers have no chance.
The fact is that Rodgers does not bring as much to the table as Fav-re in the short run, but he is a better choice for the organization in the long run. I think the Packers made the right decision, but handled it very badly.
Oh yeah, and Madden is an idiot. (Seriously, I hate that guy) 😉
"There's the snap, Rodgers with a quick drop - in trouble! AND SACKED BY ALLEN! The ball is lose, the ball is lose, and recovered by Kevin Williams! And that's the ball game! Childress and the Vikings FINALLY beat the Packers!"
